18.01.2022 Following up on my post from yesterday. My car was parked. It is a shame to see people care so little about the elderly and disabled and more about things that are not even happening
16.01.2022 It doesn't matter if you believe in climate change or not. We all just want a better place to live. Don't we? Thoughts?
11.01.2022 While others running for council are out campaigning this weekend I will be a volunteer at the Southern peaks downhill event. This is a great event for Albany and one I would love to see return again and again. It is important to stand behind these community events and support them. I wish all the competitors the best of luck. Ride safe.
07.01.2022 While the city has given approval for many developments at the Eastern end of cockburn road for seniors and the disabled they have decided not to put footpaths in to make it possible for them to get around. I helped a disabled lady write a letter a few years ago pleading for a path on this road as it is really needed. Nothing has happened. This is the future for the city. Luckily they made bathurst Street far more dangerous and put that fence along Middleton road in the last few days which do not benefit the people they represent at all. No need to worry about the health and safety of the people. Right?
07.01.2022 Planting fruit trees out the front of my shop was a no brainer. When crops are ready picking them and allowing customers to take what they need for free. Adding value and giving back to the people who support me. I would love to see the City of Albany plant fruit trees around our schools to give back a little something to the people, instead of constantly replanting little shrubs in the roundabouts that seem to have little or no benifit to the community. Mums and dads picking up the kids could grab a few pieces of fruit or children walking home could grab something nutritious at no cost. What do you think?
06.01.2022 I was walking down Middleton Road today and was a little surprised to see this fence going up. It seems to be completely unnecessary. No safety aspect for walkers. It won't stop vandals breaking headstones. It seems that not only is there no reason for it but also no benifit to the community. I spoke with a young man who lives on Collingwood Road and he was wondering why they are putting in a fence that does nothing instead of spending money on parks round Spencer Park that the council have been talking about for a long time. Like at the empty block behind Spencer Park butcher. Is anyone else a little tired of paying rates for the council to spend on projects that do nothing for the community? You should receive your ballot any day now. Make sure you vote
