25.01.2022 Every now and then you are reminded that there are so many awesome people and businesses in this world who come together to support others in the community who are also trying to make a positive impact in this world. Today I was so blessed to have been donated so much food and animal care products that I cried on the way home because I was so overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of fellow humans. A sincerely huge THANK YOU to ARC & Petbarn for all that you do in suppor...ting the work people like us do in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming our vulnerable animals. I will be splitting this amazing donation up amongst the volunteers of Peanuts Wellbeing Sanctuary in particular to Peanuts Homeless Cat Rescue division. #Petbarnfoundation #thankyouARC @Petbarn Below are photos of today. As you can see by my face I am stunned! I couldn’t get photos of all the cats enjoying their food as they have had limited human interaction so hide when humans are around. But as you can see all the residents here are very happy with what has arrived #kindnesschangeseverything

23.01.2022 If you could spare even just $5 it all adds up!!! I’m sure everyone is counting their dollars and cents after Christmas - but ending the year with a bit of kindness will really help Peanuts out!! Always remember - It’s a blessing to be a blessing!! Even if you cannot donate - please at least share!!!
23.01.2022 With a family of six extra goats under our care until we can find them a new home, the costs of desexing, vet check ups, and feeding, we could really use your h...elp. We are trying our best to find them a home as a family unit, as we want them to stay together. But it is difficult to find someone ready to take on six goats, so they will likely be staying with us for a while. Can you help us? We know this year has been tricky for everyone, so we understand if you aren't in the position to help, but any amount will help if you can spare even a few dollars. Sharing our post around is another way to help, and if you do know anyone willing to take in a lovely family of goats please ask them to get in contact with us. Thank you all, we couldn't do what we do without you. If you would prefer to donate directly, please email Tracey at [email protected] so we can provide you a receipt. 20.01.2022 As much as I love hugs... sometimes the best kind of cuddles are the ones you do with the smallest of creatures... those little paws are driving me wild #kindnesschangeseverything

18.01.2022 Magpies are protective parents! Magpies generally only swoop for a few weeks each year when people enter the territory where they are nesting. The reason they ...are so protective is that their young are very vulnerable to predators, from hatchling to fledgling stage. While it can be very frightening, these magpies are usually just giving us a warning and generally only defend within 100 metres of their nest site. Never harass, hit or provoke nesting birds as this may lead to more aggressive behaviours. Do not throw anything at a bird or nest. Harassed birds have a great memory they may then target you in future. The best thing to do for these few weeks a year, in both of the above instances, is to simply avoid areas where magpies are known to be nesting. If possible use the other side of the road or garden during the breeding season, and enjoy watching the young as they learn from their devoted parents. For the rest of the year outside of the breeding season magpies are friendly visitors to your garden and invaluable pest managers, eating a wide variety of insect pests. If more assistance is required please call WIRES or read further information at http://bit.ly/18TFhi1 We do not recommend feeding any native birds. Find out why https://www.wires.org.au//wildlife-factsheets/feeding-birds
17.01.2022 It's #RUOKDay today a national day of action dedicated to reminding us that *every day* is a good day to reach out and actively seek ways to support those in ...our world who might be struggling. Because we're stronger together, and the most vulnerable in our communities still need someone on their side Here are some tips on how we can continue to support each other through these challenging times and beyond (featuring photos of rescued animals!) 16.01.2022 In bed at 11:00pm & get a call that someone has a kitten howling in their backyard. 45mins later i’m crawling in a bush getting splinters to catch this little girl. She was petrified but managed to get her home. Turns out once she calmed down she is a little smooch!! Will foster her until she is big enough to be desexed & adopted. ... My Mother always said it’s not the things that are convenient in life that matter, but what is inconvenient. Can’t tell from the photo but this gorgeous inconvenience fits in the palm of my hand

09.01.2022 "HELP, I've found a baby possum!" Whether brought in by a cat, found alone or discovered in it's dead mum's pouch, a baby possum needs to get to a wildlife ca...rer ASAP. They simply cannot survive on their own. What to do: Keep it safe from pets and kids. Place in an old beanie or tea towel and keep warm. Most joeys can't regulate their temperature and rely on mum in the wild. Your body heat is sufficient so carefully placing down your top, against skin is a good idea. Make sure it can still breathe. If it's a bit too big, place in a well-ventillated box. Call Sydney Wildlife on 9413 4300 or take to your local vet (you won't be charged). NEVER EVER: Allow kids to play with it. Offer any food or drink. For example, fruit and dairy milk can be fatal for babies. Update your Instagtam or Facebook with cute selfies, you're a predator in the eyes of a possum. After receiving many months of specialist care from our trained volunteers, possums will be released back in the wild. If you want to become a wildlife carer, stay up to date to find out when the next courses will be held: http://www.sydneywildlife.org.au/whats-involved.html Why not donate to help our volunteers rescue and raise our wildlife: http://www.sydneywildlife.org.au/donate
06.01.2022 ** UPDATE - 2 WEEK TRIAL WITH POTENTIAL NEW FUREVER HOME ** Playful, Goofy & Energetic! These are just some of the words to describe this beautiful 10month old boy! Meet Milo!... This Chocolate & Deliciously sweet English Pointer x Mastiff, through no fault of his own is needing to find a forever home. He was adopted as a puppy however as he started to grow and become more playful his original family said they were no longer able to care for him and as they were moving into a rental property were forced to give him up. We managed to find him a temporary foster home however two months later we found out his original owners purchased another puppy from a breeder. So essentially this poor baby was abandoned. Now moving onwards and upwards He is seeking a forever home where he will be loved endlessly, given lots of smoochy cuddles, taken on adventures and truly become apart of your family. Ideally, Milo requires a lot of space to run and play, he is great with other dogs and would thrive with another energetic playful dog. He is currently living in a home with children and would enjoy being apart of a active family. If you believe that Milo is destined to be your new best buddy and apart of your family please send us a message at Candles For Kindness for more information. See more
05.01.2022 Puppies. They bite. A lot. It’s similar to how kids like to grab. It’s normal. It’s not a punishable offence. ... It’s what we sign up for when deciding to share our lives with one. It’s not up to them to suddenly learn to just stop. It’s up to us to give them ‘legal’ things to chew on. For puppies it’s more of a need than a simple want. It’s not out of spite. If you have kids yourself it’s not down to the puppies to automatically know they’re off limits, that’s on you to manage so pup can’t do it. Puppies are the coolest things ever. They’re just a bit annoying at times. But we’re generally much more annoying to them. We pick them, they don’t pick us. Learn about their needs. Put yours on hold for a while.
05.01.2022 Adopted a new dog into your home? Here is a great guide.
05.01.2022 Can you relate?
04.01.2022 Our current foster kittens. We are still touch and go but are trying our best to help them pull through the next couple of days. If you have the space in your home and in your heart - please consider fostering especially over this kitten season. Rescue groups are becoming inundated with cats & kittens and need the communities support. You could be the difference between life & death for a lot of these animals. Besides - why not make your friends jealous with who you ...get to smooch every night #kindnesschangeseverything #notallheroeswearcapes See more
04.01.2022 Just a reminder to please sign the petition. This cruelty has to stop.
02.01.2022 Meet Star! This cool cat arrived at Peanuts Homeless Cat Rescue in July. He was full of worms and had such a horrible flea infestation that his coat was patchy and skin was so red and inflamed from the dermatitis. We immediately bathed him (he was so exhausted he did not put up a fight) and flea & worm treated him. After we had a vet desex, vaccinate and flea & worm him again, we had to give him another round of worming to finally clear that up for him - his luscious coat i...s now growing back and the dermatitis is all gone!! With lots of cuddles and smooching along his journey he is now ready to find his forever home. When you purchase our candles 100% of profits go towards the rescue & rehabilitation of homeless cats like Star. Its the gift that gives!! #kindnesschangeseverything
