24.01.2022 We love it when local youth choose to return to their rural hometowns, so we're thrilled to welcome Moree's Clare Muggleton to the C&W team. Having completed a business degree on the Gold Coast, Clare admits she was keen to return to her country roots. "I love being back in a small town, the familiar faces, the easy conversations you can have in the street - there were just too many people on the Gold Coast!" Clare joined the team recently in an administration role and has a very bright future ahead. Welcome Clare, we're all very excited here at C&W to have you on board!
23.01.2022 As many of our valued clients would be aware C & W has had to change the way we are conducting our business during this very challenging time. What won’t change however, is the level of service we will be delivering to our clients, it may just vary a bit from what you are used to. We are fortunate that most of our workforce can work remotely and as such our business and the services we provide can continue.... Our offices remain open, however with very limited staff, so we ask that only necessary visits take place. You can and will continue to be able to contact our offices and team members via the usual phone line and email addresses. Stay safe everyone.
23.01.2022 The deadline for Jobkeeper payments for the two fortnights in April is fast approaching - THIS FRIDAY. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to call our office.
23.01.2022 Congratulations to C&W Moree's Britney Ryan who recently completed her CA. After three years juggling study and work, this is a significant achievement, and we're all very proud of you here at C&W. Enjoy all that extra free time now you're not tied to the desk Brit!
22.01.2022 As many of you would be aware, from 28 September the payment rates for JobKeeper will reduce, and split into a higher and lower rate. Attached is the most up-to-date information regarding the new JobKeeper requirements, however if you have any queries we strongly recommend you contact your C&W adviser. This has been a really worthwhile program to help our community through these uncertain times, and we want to ensure all our clients are getting the funding they deserve.
22.01.2022 In response to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19), C&W Financial Services will be implementing a number of precautionary measures aimed at preventing the spread of the virus locally, and to protect our clients and office teams. As of tomorrow, Wednesday 18th March 2020, appointments within our Moree, Narrabri or Wee Waa offices and off-site visits will be cancelled. For those with current appointments, we will be in touch to advise and discuss alternative arrange...ments. Despite the disruption, clients can be assured that our team is still very much on duty, and available for phone calls/conferences and email correspondence as usual. We would also appreciate our clients to limit, where possible, visits to our offices. These certainly are unprecedented times, and C&W appreciates your patience regarding this matter. Should you require any further information, or would like to discuss further please feel free to contact either Michael Picone or Brett Arthur in our Moree office on 6759 1000. See more
21.01.2022 Who rules the world!? With today marking International Day of Rural Women we’d like to say a very big thank you to all the women of rural Australia, many of whom wear a number of hats, quietly juggling the needs of family, business and the community. For many of our staff - like Kelsey and Brit pictured here - it’s out of the office and straight into the paddock, and as a rurally-based business, we’re extremely proud of the contribution the women in our team make to agriculture. Here’s to all the capable women of the bush, particularly our own tireless dynamos at C&W! Rural Women’s Day
21.01.2022 It’s always hard to strike the right balance between work and play, but we hope for our fearless partner Mark Johnson - and all the special men out there - that today was all play and no work! Happy Father’s Day!

The entity, not the eligible business participant, receives the JobKeeper payment. The exception is a sole trader, who is both the business entity and an eligible business participant, and so receives the JobKeeper payment themselves. For example, you can enrol by the end of April to claim JobKeeper payments for the two fortnights in April. C & W Financial Services are recommending you make these payments as soon as possible.
18.01.2022 In light of the current economic disruption being experienced globally due to Coronavirus, the Australian Government has announced a number of measures to help stimulate our local economy, including key tax measures and cash flow assistance. Attached are comprehensive breakdowns of these said initiatives, which will benefit a large number of our clients.
17.01.2022 C&W Financial Services' latest recruit, Dylan Sattolo, has certainly hit the ground running, as enthusiastic about his new role as an accountant as he is about becoming part of the Moree community. "I love everything about moving here," admits the Tenterfield local, "the people, the job - Moree is a great little country town and the people here are so welcoming." Having never visited Moree before, he is excited to start a new adventure here, yet with colleague Fraser Brown al...so originally a Tenterfield local, Dylan has already managed to track down a few familiar faces. Also well aware of the reputation of the mighty Weebollabolla Bulls, the keen rugby player has already headed down to the fields for a few training sessions. Completing his University studies in Brisbane last year, Dylan moved to Moree recently to take up his first meaningful role as an accountant. And he genuinely couldn't be more thrilled. "It's a dream come true, working in a great town in such a supportive and friendly firm is so exciting and I can't wait to get to know the district and the clients and learn from some of the best in the business." We're equally thrilled to have Dylan join the team, welcome! We can already tell you're going to be an asset to C&W, and the community! See more
16.01.2022 We're so proud to have Chloe on our team - a natural leader, an asset to C&W and an extremely valuable member of the Moree community!
16.01.2022 Need software advice? Annie is the guru so give her a call to ensure your system is streamlined and efficient for the new financial year.
15.01.2022 What a sight for sore eyes! As harvest starts wrapping up to the north, and kicks into gear further south, these long, sunny days are perfect for ripping of enormous volumes of grain - amounts not seen in years. The bumper harvest has, for some, been a logistical feat finding headers, trucks, staff - and time to sleep - and it's taken a huge co-ordinated effort by the whole community and industry. It's been a grand final hard fought, but we're thrilled for our farmers, agribusinesses and communities that harvest 2020 has been a winner, and should put North West NSW back in the game. Thanks Andrew Uphill for this cracking vision, and all the best to everyone still harvesting - now lets rip that crop off!
15.01.2022 Having previously worked in the high energy, demanding environment of the nearby coal mines, Narrabri's Toni Gale is used to working effectively under pressure - however as C&W Narrabri's newest trainee accountant, she's grateful for small mercies. "It's a real treat to be able to duck home for lunch, or to grab a coffee down the main street," she laughs. "I feel like everything is at my fingertips now I'm working back in town!" Toni is a born and bred Narrabri local, and h...aving gained employment in the mines while completing an accounting degree through Southern Cross University, her goal was always to secure a role with C&W. "Narrabri is my home, and I always dreamt of a career with C&W - which has such a strong reputation here in the district - so I'm thrilled to finally have this opportunity." While Toni is still finishing her degree by correspondence, she said the chance to 'learn on the job' was invaluable. "Working for the mines gave me the opportunity to learn the administrative processes from within a business, and now as a trainee accountant I'm on the other side of the fence, looking after businesses as clients, which is really exciting." "It's also nice to be working back in Narrabri, sometimes out in the mines you feel a bit disjointed from the community, so it feels really nice to be here in the main street, and part of a great local team, dedicated to the Narrabri community." An avid rugby fan, Toni plays for both the Narrabri Blue Boars and the Boggy Roos Rugby League team - and it sounds like the C&W crew will have some stiff competition come footy tipping time! Welcome to the team Toni, C&W is proud to have such a dedicated local, with a proven work ethic join our office, and we're excited to see your career evolve into even further success. See more

13.01.2022 All the best to all our little North West school starters this week - including our very own Joe Picone. We love efficient succession planning here at C&W, so fingers crossed he’s as passionate about spreadsheets as he is about dinosaurs!
10.01.2022 Some food for thought from our C&W team...
10.01.2022 A warning to all our eligible JobKeeper clients, and their employees, please be aware of a number of JobKeeper Payment phone scams going around. Scammers are pretending to be the ATO asking for bank account details - please do not to provide the requested information, JobKeeper payments are only made to employers. Check our the ATO’s current SMS and email activities page, as below, for more information about how it may contact those affected by COVID-19, and please remain vigilant everyone. www.ato.gov.au//in-detail/current-sms-and-email-activities/
10.01.2022 A beautiful addition to our C&W family, Emily Robinson, a manager in our C&W Narrabri office, and her husband Dale welcomed the birth of baby girl, Isobel Melva Robinson, born on Saturday 23rd May 2020. And what a beauty she is! We're very pleased to hear she's settling in well, and the team at C&W Financial Services congratulates and wishes Emily and Dale well for this next exciting chapter as a family.
10.01.2022 A word from the ever-insightful Trent, and our financial planning team: If news about COVID-19 were a food you would be forgiven for feeling like a foie gras duck. Perhaps it is just a little bit of media fatigue but the constant loop of the same information, interrupted every few weeks with something that may in fact be important, is getting a little stale. On one national news website recently were the following headlines: - Quarantine Scandal Deepens...Continue reading
09.01.2022 New measures to keep businesses viable during this current pandemic could be extremely useful for many local businesses. Recent announcements include a $750 per week JobKeeper subsidy to keep staff employed. Details are as such: - From 30 March 2020 for six months - First payments in first week of May 2020... - Applies to Employers <$1 billion turnover that have experienced a downturn of more than 30% based on comparable periods. - We're still unsure how this will apply to the Ag sector - A subsidy of $1,500 per fortnight per employee, administered by the ATO - To be a part of the subsidy, employers will need to ensure that their employees receive at least $1,500 per fortnight (before tax). - Sole traders and the self-employed with an ABN, and not-for-profits (including charities) that meet the turnover tests are eligible for the JobKeeper payment. Eligible employees are those who: - Were employed by the relevant employer at 1 March 2020; and - Are currently employed by the employer (including those who have been stood down or re-hired); and - Are full time, part-time, or long term casuals (a casual employee employed on a regular basis for 12 months as at 1 March); and - Are at least 16 years of age; and - Are an Australian citizen, hold a permanent visa, are a Protected Special Category Visa Holder, a non-protected Special Category Visa Holder who has been residing continually in Australia for 10 years or more, or a Special Category (Subclass 444) Visa Holder; and - Are not in receipt of a JobKeeper Payment from another employer. - While it appears that businesses without employees can potentially qualify for JobKeeper Payments, it is not clear at this stage what conditions will need to be satisfied. To receive further information and examples please ring your local C&W office, or email [email protected] to be added to our newsletter updates. Photo: Roz Zillman, My Moree.
09.01.2022 Luckily their tax returns are better than their return of serve! A few of the Moree team having a hit of tennis recently - a bit of time out of the office does everyone well. We encourage our staff to dedicate a regular monthly afternoon to outdoor activity - be it tennis, a team walk, a swim - it’s great for health, great for team building and great for a bit of friendly on-court sledging!
07.01.2022 It's an exciting time for the Moree region - the season has turned, we have exciting growth potential thanks to Inland Rail and the Special Activation Precinct and there's an influx of young people back into the district. There are also some really exciting business opportunities for start-ups to leverage off this growth, and we encourage everyone to try and make time to attend two great workshops happening in town next week. The Future of Ag Moree Breakfast will be held at ...B&W Rural on Thursday, October 29 from 7am - 9am, and features inspirational established business leaders, Joe Robinson of AFF and Peter Birch of B&W Rural, who both chose Moree to launch their infant businesses many years ago - of which both are now nationally, and internationally, renowned. Sally Glynn of Ottley Capital is one of Moree's emerging young business leaders - Ottley Capital is a new business with national reach, that has chosen to base itself in Moree. Daniel Boyce, representative from MPSC Special Activation Precinct will also join the panel to discuss the genuine business opportunities the SAP will create. Afterwards, a Business Canvas Workshop with UNE's Gary Morgan will offer the opportunity for further discussions and mentoring on how new, and established, businesses can take advantage of the myriad future opportunities and possibilities on the horizon. Moree has always been a 'can-do' community, and we can't wait to see what exiting initiatives evolve over the next few years - and this is the perfect starting point! See more
06.01.2022 Who wouldn't want to work in this awesome, fun filled team!? C&W is currently seeking an accountant for our Moree office, as detailed below. A great job, in a great community with a great team - what more could you ask for?!
05.01.2022 50 and Fabulous!! A very special birthday this week, for a very special member of our C&W team, Narrabri's Chris Rex. Happy Birthday Chris, the Narrabri office certainly gave you the spoiling you deserve, and we hope you have a wonderful birthday week!
04.01.2022 Having experienced a taste for city living during her University days, Georgia Carrigan can confirm with confidence that her roots are firmly planted here in rural Australia. A Boggabri district local, she spent 12 months in Sydney whilst studying at Notre Dame University, before swiftly transferring to the familiar fold of rural Australia at the University of New England - not far from family and friends. "I really missed the country life, and while the city provided a grea...t experience, it reaffirmed that regional and rural Australia is where I want to be," Georgia said. Whilst completing her Bachelor of Commerce and Financial Planning, Georgia's aspiration to remain working and living in a country area was further cemented, with C&W Financial Services offering her a role in the Narrabri office. Thrilled by the prospect of starting her professional career not far from her family and the Boggabri cotton property on which she was raised, C&W is equally thrilled to welcome this bright young aspiring accountant into the business. "This feels like the perfect fit, and an opportune place to start my career - plus it's great to put my degree into practical use." "I'm also excited to get to know, and contribute to, the Narrabri community and indulge my passion for agriculture," the former Gunnedah Showgirl said of maintaining her community endeavours in her new town. Georgia started with C&W last month as an assistant accountant, and smiles that she can already see a long career ahead of her in the business. "Everyone is so nice and I loving being in this district, I can't wait to see where this role takes me." See more
02.01.2022 C&W Financial Services has an exciting opportunity for a senior accountant - now is the time to embrace regional Australia, so if you know someone either from within the community, or from away with the skills and desire to make the tree change, this is the perfect opportunity - get tagging!
01.01.2022 A milestone we haven't yet been able to celebrate due to the surreal happenings of 2020 - but 100 years later we are so proud to be continuing RE Cummins' legacy, and of C&W's contribution to the region's strong local history. What a wonderful tribute his grandson Richard has written, what a visionary RE was.
