19.01.2022 Dear friends of Candyland, After spending three years working hard together to get Candyland established as a community art space in Thornbury, Lea Loveheart was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 6 months pregnant in January this year. Pregnancy and new born days are already challenging enough (throw in a delightful two year old in the mix as well) but with the brain tumour it's made it even more of an endurance battle with the hardest part yet to come. We've put our heart a...nd souls in to trying to provide something for the community we feel so connected with down here in Melbourne but with putting everything we had in to our fledgling enterprise (that was set up on a more not for profit model), it isn't really lucrative enough to provide for the costs incurred for such an unexpected turn as life dishes out. If you're a friend of Candyland and you've found value in what we've provided for our community over the last few years it would be deeply, deeply appreciated if you could give what you can towards a GoFundMe campaign that has been set up by some loved ones to support our little family in this saga. Many thanks and hope to see you all again at Candyland once we're on the other side of this all.
