12.01.2022 I've never seen one like this before
06.01.2022 !!!!ATTENTION ALL PET OWNERS IN LOGAN AREA!!! PARVO WARNING There is a spread of Parvovirus in QLD at the moment. I recently took my dog to a dog park in the ...Slacks Creek area where he has caught the Parvovirus. My dog was diagnosed with an advanced case of it this afternoon and is in currently in quarantined critical care-they cannot give a prognosis and are not sure if he is going to make it. Although cost is the last thing on my mind at the moment as I'm extremely upset, this is going to cost between $1220-2500 depending on severity (extensive tests still being carried out) PREVENTION: -vaccinate your pets (it is not full proof, my puppy had ALL his vaccines and still got this), but it helps -if you go to public areas don't let your dogs eat, lick or sniff at other dogs faeces -on that note, pick up your dogs faeces. I know it's gross. Use a bag. Don't be selfish -Beware of warning signs in public areas -Avoid dog parks for a while with this outbreak LOOK OUT FOR THE WARNING SIGNS, they come on RAPIDLY-within 24hrs, your pet can die within 48: -Not eating for 24hours, going off their food/loss of appetite -Not drinking water -Vomitting, and vomiting bile, in severe cases (like mine) blood in the vomit -Dehydration -Lethargy -Blood in the stool -Diarrhoea/bloody diarrhoea -Fever/high temp Parvovirus is fatal, highly contagious and has sudden onset. Please look out for your pets IF YOU THINK YOUR DOG MAY HAVE IT ALREADY: -Please get them to a vet IMMEDIATELY -There is an animal hospital for after hours on Lexington road in Underwood and another on Pacific Highway Slacks Creek -If you're limited on funds, VetPay is available at both of these locations or Animal Welfare QLD is an amazing alternative which offers payment plans
