06.01.2022 Puppy Socialisation: Socialisation isn't all about your puppy meeting every single person or dog it meets. There is so much more to it, including environmental socialisation. This is where your puppy is gently exposed to things in its environment it may come in contact with, it doesn't necessarily mean up close and personal. Puppies can often get overwhelmed with new experiences so it's good to remember socialisation should be done at the puppy’s own pace, at distance and fro...m the safety of the owners arms/car (particularly when puppies aren't fully vaccinated and still in the critical socialisation period) Some of our socialisation experiences this week included: - Short car trip - Street watching (cars, bikes and skateboard) - Child's party (observed from the safety of the puppy pen, while eating a value treat and then sleeping) - Learning to watch the cat in a calm manner - Vet visit for vaccinations - Watching a lawn mover on the oval, while being held - Hanging out while kids bounce basketballs and shoot hoops If you need more information on socialising your puppy, please get in touch. We offer a range of services, tailored specifically to meet the needs of puppies
