09.01.2022 Our role in Northern Tasmanian CAA: Thanks for that Lin Knight

08.01.2022 Lin Knight Following our gettogether earlier this month, CAN Launceston have joined with other activist groups in Northern Tasmania to operate, in addition to our separate deliberations, as active members of the Northern Tasmanian Climate Action Alliance (NTLCAA). We agree to share a determination to use all peaceful and non-violent means to:... demand immediate action on the climate crisis by all levels of government in Australia and the world. Members of the alliance will exchange information, share resources and support actions where appropriate.

07.01.2022 From Extinction Rebellion Northern Tasmania:

04.01.2022 Lin Knight Here is an interim of the Manifesto being agreed between member groups of the NTCAA. I will keep you informed as minor modifications are made, but this gives a good account of the collective feeling contained in the manifesto: The Northern Tasmanian Climate Action Alliance (NTCAA) (or the ‘Alliance’) demand immediate action on minimising the impact of the climate crisis by all levels of government in Australia and in the rest of the world. Member groups of the All...iance will use all peaceful and non-violent means at their disposal to push this demand for action. We will exchange information and resources and support each other’s actions where appropriate. Member groups will maintain their own individual objectives and principles and are not subordinate to the Alliance. Member groups are not obliged to participate in another groups actions. The Alliance believes that the solutions to the crisis must just and equitable and not come at the expense of any one human community. The burden must be shared equally among all humanity. See more
