25.01.2022 After spending the last year making plans for the second Cannabis Industry Awards, we were getting excited to launch again in April. However, obviously, things have changed. Although The Awards can be run 100% online, many of the hemp and cannabis companies in Australia have been hit hard by the fallout from the Coronavirus, and we don't think now is the right time to be celebrating. ... We've decided it's best to postpone the 2020 awards by two months and we will revisit the situation by June 1st. We realise that it's important to still keep the 2020 Awards on, and support the industry to get back on its feet after a very difficult start of 2020 - so rest assured that this is just a delay. Like the rest of Australia, we hope that we can all work together to bounce back from these unprecedented times and come out on the other side soon. In solidarity, we hope that you are all staying safe and optimistic. Our hearts go out to anyone who is doing it tough at the moment. We'll be in touch again soon. - The Cannabis Awards Team

06.01.2022 After the devistating bushfires earlier this year, we're proud to announce that we've partnered with @onetreeplanted so that we will plant a tree for every nomination in this year's Cannabis Awards. The more nominations the better - every tree counts!

05.01.2022 We're looking forward to seeing some of Australia's first legal home grows - award worthy, you could say.

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Canberra! For the first time in 90 years, residents can now get high legally AND grow their own. Welcome to the first day of legal cannabis in Australia! Which state do you think will be next? It's not perfect, but at least we're making progress. We know we still have a long way to go in giving all Australians the freedom to grow and heal but this IS a huge accomplishment, it gives us hope and we are excited!... From today, the ACT’s new laws allow adults to possess up to 50 grams of cannabis each, and legally grow their own plants. Hydroponic setups are still illegal, and there will be a maximum of four plants allowed at one residence. Also, it's still illegal to buy or sell, or smoke in public. In fact, it’ll still be illegal to share your weed with someone. One of the strangest quirks of the new legislation is that you will technically have to break the law to start growing your legal crops, as the seeds are still illegal to buy or sell.
