24.01.2022 Things are heating up, as was the ride today! A grand number of 14 TRC riders ( all in blue!) were along for the hot- fest today, including a plus two ( also in Blue - two in Blue! - sorry). Hope to see you soon ladies back in the main Peleton ( at the front even?!). Scarborough was today’s route and one of the longest TRC rides. Basically the group kept together pretty well today. There was some normal separation along the nice straight runs but the group continually regrou...ped without a problem. The Drift Kitchen stop was well deserved and sort after today. There were coffees to spare today with one just not being enough for some people! Heading back we took the Subi/City route to try and hit home in as short a time as possible before the heat really kicked in. Basically we didn’t achieve this as it was bloody hot! All made it back though and it was a great effort from all today. Don’t forget that next week is the last ride prior to Christmas so it would be great to see everyone there. Until Next Week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

24.01.2022 Ok! We had the whole group back today including a few faces from the past (Ronny, Mark and Steve ( aka Sven!) ). Lorelle and Brad C were also back with the group however opted for a shorter River loop to ease themselves back in ( will see you both soon in the main Peleton!). So that was 17 riders with 15 in the main group headed for Perry Lakes. Great to see these numbers back! The heat and humidity could be felt from the get go and I think many riders were just recoveri...ng from a less than average sleep re the temperature and humidity! We had a pretty zippy pace today with favourable traffic which delivered us to our coffee stop today ( The Little Banksia) in no time at all. The Little Banksia just can’t be beat for fresh, homemade items. Their muffins are to die for and the coffee can comfortably be had black ( this President’s sign of good coffee!). Always friendly and accommodating we are giving it a TRC 4/5 Cog Rating. A new rating system for a new year! Some interesting commentary from Lorelle during coffee who was explaining how her bike during her pregnancy had become a spare parts bike of sorts for her husband. All I can say is: Steve: you are a brave man!! Heading back, the heat was really picking up ( really!). GT, Steve B and Jason V peeled off to go down Centenary Ave. It was here that GT and Steve had a little Saturday Morning - I have not had my Coffee road rage! Fortunately the driver did not exit the car! Who said you need coffee to give you a kick!! Otherwise the rest of the group returned to the store in one piece for a great start to the year. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

24.01.2022 13 has been seen as an unlucky number but not for the intrepid members of TRC yesterday! With more JAM then a High Tea yesterday we were set for a great ride through Canning Dam. It had been a while since The Riders Club has done this one but definitely worth it. Things started off a little brisk but this disappeared as we made the climb up Albany Highway. Jammers Killa and Sven joined by the Triumphant Towie and El Pres ( now on an anti creak seat post clamp!) made the a...ttack up to the Canning Dam turn off. This was quite the pace and possibly a record time! On reaching the turn off it seemed there was a Canning Dam Turn Off Party happening with numerous other groups regrouping. It was here that we realised that we were missing two riders. Fortunately both Andrew (O) and Simon had made the Waterwheel turn off and met us safe and sound at Kelmscott Dome (Sorry guys!). Moving forward through the dam things cooled down again but picked back up as we came into Kelmscott. A great ride through this area and a great effort from all. Coming into the Dome at Kelmscott we settled in for the coffee stop. Consistently good coffee at this Dome, the eats were also proving popular yesterday. In particular Brad E enjoyed a very decadent tart of sorts embellished with cream and custard! Nothing low end for TRC! Heading back home we said goodbye to a few riders along the way with the rest making it back to the store safely. A great day out. Thanks all. Happy Fathers Day everyone! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe. El Pres

24.01.2022 14 Riders Club members turned up this morning for what was an icy cold start to the day. This cold really never left. Essentially, it was just bloody cold! A very light rain threatened just before we left but this quickly passed. Bibra Lake was today’s route and it was back to the original route since road works had been completed along Jandakot Road. A good ride was had by all with the whole group staying together and holding a good pace with a few hit outs throughout.... Simon’s new Cervalo, literally less than 24 hours old, was out for its first ride and was on the pace! Great things to come from this bike and its rider! The 9 Seeds Cafe on Marmion in Freo was the chosen coffee stop for today. This place has great coffee and experienced by most this morning, great muffins, especially when they are straight out the oven!! We noted however that they must have a One Brad rule. Not widely known, this rule mandates one Brad leaving as another arrives. Brad C and Steve B were adhering to this today and made a brief cross over with the group. Hope you had a good ride guys. Heading back to the store we had a good run along Shelly and low and behold, 14 riders back at the store with no flats ( minus Pistol Pete who was on Child Watch!) Another great day out! Until next week ( actually, El Pres will be in Rockingham next week, but make sure you all turn up!) Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

23.01.2022 As George Constanza (Seinfeld) would say: We’re back baby! All the gang was back today, 12 in total! Not a bad turn out for what was a very icy start to the day ( really, just bloody cold!). Jason and Simon returned not put off from our Mandurah soaking. Post Mandurah trip note: both Pistol Pete and El Pres had slow flats when they got home. Greg T had a flat on his trainer! Greg, the prize is yours!! We were bestowed today with the return of the Missing Lont. Simil...ar to the Missing Link only on a bike! Back from secret training and E - Bike Motor Pacing, Mr Lont was up for the challenge. Heading off to the Swan Valley today we needed an early ( very early) pit stop. This was at a Gloria Jeans Petrol Station stop. They were kind enough to let us use their toilet. As pointed out by Brad E, the calling of yet another Big Breakfast confronted El Pres - another time perhaps! Moving on today we had a great ride courtesy of Route Master G. Plenty of good stretches and opportunities for some good hit outs. A couple of close calls today but everyone stayed upright! The Dome at Maylands was our Coffee stop today and provided the normal consistency. All arrived safely back at the store for what was a great morning of riding! Thanks everyone! Until next week Ride Safe. Ride Smart El Pres RIP - The Towie Family Dog

23.01.2022 July/August 2020 Ride Routes Saturday 4th July - Simon’s Scarborough Route - Cafe Driftwood Saturday 11th July - Pickering Brook - Cafe Kalamunda... 23.01.2022 Special mention to all riders this morning as there were only 5 present!! ( good luck to Andrew O, Simon, Bernie and Jason V at York) Greg, Gareth, Pete, El Pres and Jammer Jason were present and accounted for at the store this morning. Bound for the reverse zig-zag, a slight variation on El Pres’s much anticipated Tour de Brook. A Maggie swooping on the way in for El Pres and a chilly start we were ready to start moving to warm things up. It is fair to say that we set a... cracking pace and oh yes, a cracking pace!! throughout the ride. Some good, strong riding from all. A new route and a new Coffee Stop ( we don’t do things in singular in TRC!). It was time to Think Pink as we landed at the Pink Deli. They do a All Day Breakfast, so straight away this was a winner! It passed the coffee and food test so the consensus was that we would be back! A strong, fast paced ride finished the morning off with all accounted for back at home base. Back to normal numbers next week. Until next week Ride Smart Ride Safe El Pres

23.01.2022 A slightly delayed post ride report ( very busy day for El Pres yesterday!) but worth the wait! The wind was up yesterday and so were 8 RC Members for some wind seeking. With Pickering Brook the chosen route it was cross wind along Albany Hwy and a headwind along Brookton Hwy with not much reprieve. All riders made a really good effort of the conditions. Well done to Andrew O who hung in there all the way to the Coffee stop ( it will only make you stronger Andrew!). In tr...ue RC form there were a couple of Good Samaritan efforts today. The first at the Petrol station at the corner of Brookton Hwy and Canning Road. A loose drink bottle holder was secured on a passer by with a handy tool from Brian. It was here that Tim asked for a tube where it was thought that we had another mechanical. Andrew pulled out a bag of Jelly Beans. El Pres may be getting older but was finding it hard to connect the dots. It turns out Tim only needed a Jube!! An easy fix! Moving further down Canning Road we came across a rider who had of all things broken a chain. We offered a chain link and chain breaker to which we received a fairly terse reply that he already had these items. We decided to leave Mr Grumpy to his own devices and head on to our Coffee stop in the hills - The Coffee Club. We are not certain but we think Brad E may be spending some time here as he received a very friendly coffee ahead of everyone else despite not ordering first! All done with coffee, we headed down Kalamunda Road and back to the store . A good, safe ride from all with a nice tailwind on the way back! Until Next Week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres.

22.01.2022 After an executive decision was made to change the scheduled route from the hills to the flats, the first group ride for 2021 saw 11 riders, including the return of David Longman (hope to see you a bit more this year David !!) head off to Point Walter. The plan was to avoid the wind where ever possible. This plan worked well for 50% of the ride, with the return trip being best discribed as character building !!! The selected coffee stop was Lo Quay with lots of discussions on... the up coming 2021 events, both on and off road (K100, Dam Challenge, Sevens, C2C to name a few). Already plenty of options for everyone. Happy New Year to all and the club looks forward to your continued support in 2021. Until next week, stay safe, ride safe.

20.01.2022 January / February 2021 Routes Saturday 9th January - Perry Lakes Route / Coffee Stop - Little Banksia Saturday 16th January- Fruit Loop Route / Coffee Stop - Mason Bird ... 19.01.2022 Soooo, everyone was back today. Brad E from his rim tape rampage, GT from his weekend away! and yours truly from bouncing at a Year 12 Graduation Afters Party! 11 Riders Club members were ready for the Scarborough route and Coffee at the Drift Kitchen. A slightly different route and a detour made TRC , the Lost Riders with more separations then, well... I really don’t know! Despite this we had a good run along WC Hwy and all made it to the Drift Kitchen in one piece. Und...er Reno’s and with limited seating we thought that a relocation may be in order however TRC is committed when it comes to Coffee! The Drift Kitchen was very obliging and opened its back seating section for us so we were in business! Consistently good coffee and food, it’s why we keep coming back! Heading back we had a non separated ride and all made it back to the store with a few departures along the way. Good weather, people and Coffee. What else could you ask for? Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

16.01.2022 TRC was back on deck today with 14 willing riders ready to take on the slight modification to Midland - that being Midland Watts!! Some head wind, some tail wind set the day up for some fast sections and Midland Watts lived up to its name with some good stretches to let the Watts out! Only one flat today for Alex. The tyre proved to have quite the relationship with the rim however it was no match for the mighty hands of Brad E. Back on the road we headed into East Perth fo...r our Coffee stop. Busy, good coffee and giant muffins! It was enjoyed by all today. The Happy Birthday song was a giveaway but a big Happy Birthday to Jason V today. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

15.01.2022 7 intrepid Riders Club Members arrived at the Cannington Carpark this morning for what was thought to be a good condition ride. What eventuated, on the way down, was far from this! The Weather Zone App forecast 40% of <1mm. This app may be dead to me! We could not have been wetter or colder! When the rain came, it came and when it stopped it stopped! ( we did see the end of a Rainbow though but no pot of gold !)Topped off by two Nature breaks and a flat and looking l...ike drowned Rats, it was a great trip down!! Our coffee shop today was On the Bay in Mandurah. Great food and coffee and super fast service! This was a great energy boost and warm up for everyone as the Sun slowly revealed itself. Both Brad E and El Pres had big breakfasts. While tasty and no problems in putting down ( in fact all food was smashed down today!), these two meals sat with Brad and El Pres as extra passengers on the way back. Note to all: we made it back without these passengers off boarding! Just prior to departing for the trip back, Greg decided to use Pete’s hand pump to top up his rear tyre after the flat on the way in. This unfortunately resulted in the tube valve being accidentally pulled out! This was quickly corrected by Pistol Pete’s nimble hands and is now known as Doing a Towie on your Tube!. Incredibly, on picking up his bike ready to ride, Bernie’s parter Simon also had a flat! Bernie, Simon and Jason V were all training it back and as such we left them in capable hands to make our return trip. El Pres, Brad E, Greg T and Pistol Pete were on the return team and smashed it out on the way back. Great work guys! We all departed at different points once on the Roe Hwy path ready for a well deserved rest at home. Great work from everyone today. A special call out to Bernie’s Simon who completed his longest ride to date. Well done Simon. Also a great effort from Jason V who had not been out for a while. Great to have you along guys. Until the next Social Ride Ride Smart. Ride Safe. El Pres

15.01.2022 TRC Members 2020 has been a year like no other before , let’s all catch up for breakfast on Sunday 6th December 2020 and have a few laughs and maybe even a few awards. It’s a non-Lycra event so please bring along family and friends ..

13.01.2022 ‘‘Twas the last ride before Christmas. Everything was quite. You couldn’t hear anything, not even a mouse. That’s because we were smashing it down to Freo!! 14 wind ready riders turned up today for what turned out to be a Fast Freo! There was a divide at the beginning with 3 riders opting for a slightly more chilled route. Hope you had a good one guys. The rest set off on a new route heading down to Freo and then back into EV Park. As mentioned above, the peloton smashe...d it down to Freo in what I think was a record time for TRC of 1 hour on the dot! Well done all! We headed back to the Raffles and took the Freeway path back to today’s coffee stop, Social Manna ( got it right this time!). It was on the path where Brad Elliott made an early attempt as a contender for the flat of the year award. It takes something to challenge our current holder the triumphant Towie but Brad gave it a good shot! With a prior flat in Pt.Walter and another on the path and with a shortage of long stem values on inner tubes, we thought it may be curtains for Mr. Elliott! Never to fear, the Jubilant Julie came to the rescue with the appropriate tube and after many hands on those dam tyres, we were off!! One for records! The group made it safely to the coffee stop and all preceded well from there for a well earned break. Thanks to everyone for your support throughout the year. Have a good XMas and New Year and as always.... Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

12.01.2022 Better late than never with the El Pres write up this week but El Pres has been a busy man this weekend! There were 9 RC members on board on Saturday for the timeless Cottesloe route. We believe a first for TRC in that everyone was in kit and there were only Men! We made good time to and from Cottesloe with very few traffic hold ups. The Little Stove was of course the coffee stop for the day and seeing that it was a male only audience there was the opportunity for some ...manly talk. Topics varied however most importantly we all now know how to butter toast! All up, great weather, great food ( see the variety of the day with the photos!) and a great ride. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

11.01.2022 In the absence of El Prez and half the crew I have been given the privilege of today’s write up. A huge welcome back to Craig and a massive congratulations to Julie for her last weekends effort in the Busselton half. A good turn out for Grand Final day with plenty of banter between the Richmond and Geelong fans. The group couldn’t miss the leader Andrew as his pink socks were a stand out fashion statement. With an enjoyable tail wind for half the ride, the crew was able to make good time to today’s coffee stop at Little Banksia. A big Happy Birthday to Bernie, her birthday wish came true with Richmond winning the Grand Final. After enjoying good coffee and food and singing the birthday song we all made it back to the shop. Until next Saturday stay safe and upright. Route Master G

11.01.2022 A record today that the Riders Club has not seen for a while with 15 Riders turning up this morning! It would appear that Winter is the season to make your riding come back with both Alex and Tim resurfacing. Welcome back guys! Reunions over, Scarborough awaited via Hepburn Ave off the Ellenbrook path. One of the longer rides for the Riders Club with just over 80 Km being clocked up. A fairly smooth run was had by all. A few little minor mechanicals but otherwise good . ...The Drift Kitchen on Brighton Rd in Scarborough was the Coffee stop for today. Not having been here for a while, the Coffee and food still lived up to its name. With no flats in sight ( makes for a nice change!) all made it back to the store safely. Well done everyone for a great ride today and putting in a great effort. Until next week Ride Smart Ride Safe El Pres

09.01.2022 A slightly warmer morning greeted 10 willing Riders Club members today. A welcome to Bernie’s partner Simon who was along to participate in the Riders Club experience today. Nice to have you along Simon ( don’t think I will forget the name easily!!). A fairly subdued ride today was had by all which was nice for a change of pace. There were however still some good opportunities for some hit outs which several members took up the challenge! The Little Stove was back on the ...list today for Coffee stops - finally! Great coffee and a fine array of home baked items! Yes, Kel, I did think about stashing a few Melting Moments for the road! All in all a great day out had by all. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

09.01.2022 August Ride Routes - 6:30am roll out from Cannington carpark Saturday 8th August - Midland Mix-up - Cafe Catalanos Vic Park Saturday 15th August - TRC Original - Cafe Lo Quay ... Saturday 22nd August - Herne Hill Route - Cafe Whistlers Swan Valley Saturday 29th August - Lake Road - Cafe Twig n Sparrow Saturday 5th September - Canning Dam - Cafe Dome Kelmscott

09.01.2022 Hi All, 12 Riders Club members were along today for a somewhat windy Freo Route. The wind also kept a nice chill around even when the sun was out. Heading out, it was not long until triple P Pete lived up to his name with the first puncture of the day. Clearly going for the record for number of kms out of a single tyre, approx 10,000km from one tyre- it’s time for some new tyres Pete! Moving on we made a fairly consistent pace down to Freo and a Riders Club favourite, Il C...ibo’s, for our Coffee stop. Always great Coffee and food ( despite some ordering issues!),it was also nice to warm up in the morning sun. Heading back, it would appear that the best way to take down a giant is to give him a puncture! This time it was Andrew O with a front flat. Both Andrew and Pete are on Giants! Heading back we made some good pace to Shelly and had a good go through the normal Shelly Run with the pace being pushed by the Triumphant Towie! At the end of the run , not even Greg’s earlier David Attenborough Maggie feeding event was enough for the group to avoid being swooped! We made a move quickly to have all riders safely back at the store. A great ride and effort today by all. Always a pleasure riding with the group! If you like photos, I have a ton of them today curtesy of Brad E, Greg and Gareth! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

09.01.2022 An interesting day out today for 11 Riders Club Members. Where to start? Kicking things off for the morning, Pete was living up to his Puncture Pete name ( others of note: Pistol and Pylon Pete!). A flat about a km away from the store which was remarkable timing! The change out was under way when El Pres arrived. A surprise for the morning, the return of Jarvid! Great to have you back Jarvid. Don’t make it 6 months next time! Onwards for the ride which was heading up t...o Waterwheel, we had a spilt before we started! The Henfrey Three (Wanted Deserters! - Officer Elliot, bring them in!), decided upon Pt . Walter for the day. El Pres was able to catch up with the Deserters ( missing an opportunity for a Citizens Arrest!) post ride on his return home and can report that all had a safe ride ( see photo). The rest headed up Albany Hwy, Waterwheel bound. Simon was onboard with his new shoes (Simon’s Shoes!). A few help tips and he was smashing it up Albany Hwy ( is there any other way?). Halfway up Greg had to stop for a nature break. Slightly concerning with the time passing we wondered whether a safe work Plan was being constructed! Not to fear though, Greg emerged relieved and ready to continue the Albany Hwy onslaught. Moving forward, the rest of the ride went quite smoothly with only a little rain. Kelmscott Dome was the stop for today and had the normal goods. A smooth ride back to store with all accounted for and dry! Considering the weather, a great day out! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

08.01.2022 With a slight confusion as to what month it was ( seemingly Winter!) 5 hardy RC members were present this morning for what was a very, very wet ride! Also, despite the forecast temperature stating 14 it felt much colder. Aside from receiving a through soaking we made good to time on the Kelmscott Route and arrived at Dome Kelmscott very much ready for some hot coffee! We got up and going before things completely seized up and had an even better run back to the store. Here..., the new kit was handed out by Mr Elliot. Be sure to collect yours! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

07.01.2022 16 Riders Club members turned up today for lots of hills and lots of wind! There is wind and then there is wind. We had the later! Brad C and Belle B ( good to see you Belle!!) did a splinter group ride of a slightly shorter distance to ease back into things. Many were wishing they had done the same! It started from the climb up Welshpool Road and really never left. Whirl winds and tumble weeds were spotted and those with deep dish wheels wished otherwise! Despite this,... the ride was event free and 10 riders ended up at today’s cafe ( some leaving due to time restraints), The Mason Bird. A new one for TRC and previously visited by our hill bound members, The Mason Bird featured some good coffee ( they also do a cold brew!) and some homemade sweet items with something to please everyone. They were very accommodating and by no surprise, they were visited by others groups of riders while we were there. A 4/5 Cog Rating for the Mason Bird! Just into our coffee we had a rare sighting of the Missing Lont! Not in TRC kit however our keen eyes spotted him from the road. Good to see you Craig! We headed home down Kalamunda Road with various people heading off at their points. All up, a safe ride for all. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

07.01.2022 On an overcast and low wind morning, 10 Riders Club members gathered today bound for, the very well known, Pt Walter Route. Although there was very little wind this morning, all agreed that we felt every bit of the stated 9 Degrees ( perhaps less!). Conditions no doubt driven by the cloud and moisture presence, this latter presented as, yes, the first ride rain for the upcoming Winter. Fortunately there was not a lot to dampen spirits but it remained cold! A fairly good run ...was had by all today with some good hit outs in the usual stretch’s. Majestic Point presented its normal views today and something a little extra for Gareth with a majestic flat! True to its name , this one took two tubes and three canisters. Believed to be a new club record! Moving on, we made our way to today’s coffee stop, the Twig and Sparrow. Great coffee and great food. Back to back for El Pres today with a Bacon and Egg English Muffin, also experienced by Bernie. These are the best! ( the best!). Heading back to the store, all were accounted for with a safe ride from all. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

06.01.2022 Fine weather awaited today for 12 Riders Club members. Reasonable temperature and winds made the Midland and Herne Hill circuit inviting for all. A moderate pace got the group out to Herne Hill this morning. Once at Herne Hill ( and after a mandatory Nature Break), El Pres explained the ins and out of the Masters Herne Hill Circuit. A great effort from all today with a tight formation and rolling. Could we do this all the time ??! We headed back to Whistlers in the Swan ...Valley however we were a little too keen as they did not open until 0900. A quick vote was had and we headed for the Crooked Squire. For anyone reading who does not know, the Crooked Squire has good, strong coffee and a fine array of pastries. Worth stopping in!! All done we headed back to the store. It turns out this was one of the bigger rides for the club with just over 80kms being clocked up on route. If you rode in today you would have got your ton! Just prior to reaching the store ( on Wharf Street) a few riders hooked onto a younger female rider being motor paced. A great little hit and she was too strong for us all! Well done to everyone today. Great progress on the riding and group dynamics. Great things ahead for TRC!! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

06.01.2022 8 Riders Club members were aboard today bound for the Kelmscott Route. Some were keen to save their legs today for the Mandurah ride tomorrow however there were still some good hit outs. It was noticeably chilly today with a little bit of rain just as we left our coffee stop - welcome back to Dome Kelmscott! Brad C joined us at the Dome today and then departed from the group not long after leaving the Dome. Brad, we saw more of you at the Dome! Making it through the rain,... all arrived safely back at the store. Rest up for tomorrow everyone! Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

06.01.2022 What a great turnout today for the TRC end of year XMas breakfast. Great food, coffee and atmosphere! A big thankyou to VP Brad Elliott ( and a big Happy Birthday!) for organising the awesome trophies for today. They were really great ( and I received one!!). Congratulations to all recipients today and most importantly to all members who have supported TRC for the year. We look forward to an even better year in 2021. See you all next weekend. El Pres

05.01.2022 Don’t worry. I’m back fellow Riders Club Members! Just got side tracked yesterday with the post ( you have one week off and it all goes to hell!). 14 riders were present yesterday for a cold and continually cold Cottesloe Route. Despite the cold, wind was low and the sky’s were clear. In the middle of Winter you can’t ask for much more! Jason had his pick up of the year new bike and a Romper Stomper haircut to boot. Watch out for this man! . Also with a different bi...ke to his new bike was Simon who was aiming for tyres that did not give you 4 flats in 7 mins !( how many canisters would that take Greg?). Still on the bike dilemmas, Alex also had a new bike that had an affinity with the seat post position of its former owner. A possible possession, it was agreed that a new seat post may be in order. Aside from these items, it was a fairly casual and relaxed ride . The Little Stove in Bicton was the chosen coffee stop. This place never disappoints and I believe it serves the best long blacks in town! All accounted for back at the store for a save and enjoyable ride. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe. El Pres.

05.01.2022 10 Riders Club members were present this morning ( and one Jam Associate - Father Brian!) for what was to be a trip down memory lane for ride routes. High drama right from the get go with Two Canister Towie making an emergency Riders Club call with a flat ( yes, another one!) on the way in! Saved by another helpful rider Greg was able to make it to the start line. It appears that Greg likes to rub shoulders with the rich and famous and also with curbs! We look forward t...o seeing the new wheel set Greg! Onwards for the route which was the original Social Loop with a Pt Walter combo thrown in courtesy of the Route Master himself. A great variation, it was an enjoyable ride for all with something for everyone. Greg and El Pres enforced an emergency nature break which also gave time to fix Simon’s pedal tension ( love the new wheels Simon! - Greg take note). On our way, we headed to Shelly onroute to the Lo Quay. Another rolling practice session today with some nice formation. Well done to all. The Lo Quay today was offering its normal fare with a surprising large banana bread. Uncertain if these were former house foundations, it didn’t matter - it tasted good! El Pres, aka Simon, aka Henry managed to get his coffee spot on today so all was good! Great riding and conversation makes for another great day out. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

05.01.2022 A tad windy! A nice way to sum up this mornings ride for 13 wind seeking Riders Club members. To say the least, there was some wind around today! Starting at our normal meeting point, the first wind effect was a change in route from Midland to Freo in an attempt to hide from the wind. Probably from a tip off but the wind still found us! Leaving the store, we headed out minus the Elliot’s and Craig however we honoured by the presence of Jammer Jason! A fairly casual roll o...ut through East Vic Park and then it was on along Mounts Bay Road and Dalkeith with speeds getting up into the 50’s in some sections! Overall the group stayed together well despite a momentary El Pres geographical mislocation. Heading back along the standard Shelly run and in an attempt to save all from the wind, it was decided to have a practice rolling session. A little shaky to start with however we got going and eventually had a line formation happening. No doubt some further practice needed in this area however some great work from first time rollers this morning and don’t worry, this takes lots of practice! More of this to come! Hitting up the Lo Quay this morning for coffee, while not as busy as usual, the same good service was still there. Heading back to the store with all accounted for , another good, hard hit out by all. Until next week Ride Smart. Ride Safe El Pres

04.01.2022 Bueller? Bueller? GT and El Pres were looking at an abandoned Carpark this windy morning. The numbers did not increase past two, so off we headed! A head wind one way and a tail wind on the way home. A reasonably relaxed pace around the river was had with a stop in at the Little Banksia. Incredibly, we missed all the rain! 03.01.2022 7 TRC riders(plus the return of Tanya and Bel!) made it 9 for today. A different first time route for TRC courtesy of Tim who has developed an affinity for hills (lucky us!). As it was their first time back for a while both Bel and Tanya chose shall we say, a somewhat flatter route! Welcome back ladies! A strong headwind and hills were awaiting the rest of the group and this is definitely what we got! It has been a while since TRC has tackled 16 to 20% gradients and for ...some this was their first time. A great effort from all today and everyone made it through the ride safely and back to the coffee stop for today - Social Mania in East Vic Park. What a place this is! Busy and for good reason. Great coffee ( plenty of it if you like soup bowls!) and food. The Bacon and Egg sarnie has the El Pres tick of approval! We also had a surprise visit from one very pregnant Lorelle! Due in less than a week we were on high alert. Good luck Lorelle! After coffee, food and a good catch up, we headed back to the store. A great day for riding ! Until next week Ride Smart. 01.01.2022 An icy start to the day for 12 Riders Club members this morning (really icy!). Apologies up front as our resident photographer was down today and essentially we forgot about the photos! Not to worry as we will let the words paint the picture. Pickering Brook was the target for today and despite the chilly start it was a crystal clear day which made for great views in the hills. Flats have seemed to plaque the Riders Club this winter and today did not disappoint. All 12 r...iders made their way up Albany Hwy and proceeded onto Brookton Hwy and this is where the flats struck yet again. This time, recently returned Javad had the pleasure! Slightly late for the beginning of the ride due to a flat identified at home, this same flat reappeared. Master Flat changers Craig and El Pres were there to assist - how many Riders Club members does it take to change a flat? Apparently three! The culprit was found ( a reasonable slither of metal). However upon inflation the flat occurred yet again. Further inspection identified part of the metal inner lining of the tyre protruding. It was was time for the $5 dollar tool which actually was going to have to be the $20 tool! Fortunately well prepared Javad had a puncture repair patch which fixed the problem. A quick status call with Greg and were on our way. Now somewhat delayed, Craig, Javad and El Pres completed the ride separate from the group ( although we all arrived at the same time in the end)to today’s chosen coffee destination- Old Mates. A little shortage on the Blueberry Muffins but otherwise all was good. The return route was via Gooseberry Hill and all made their way safely back to the store. Another great day out with great weather to boot! What more could you ask for? Until next week Ride Smart Ride Safe El Pres

01.01.2022 14 Riders Club members turned up this morning to take on the Lakes Road course on what was a pretty much perfect day for it. A welcome back for Steve B today. Like I said today Steve , haven’t seen you in ages! We started into some rolling early in the piece along some nice stretch’s. This is really improving for the group. Great work! It soon became apparent that this was to be the Towie Tour with a last moment variation thrown in by Greg. A fairly flat route with some... good opportunities for some constant riding. Heading down the freeway bike path towards LeachHwy we had a good pace going. This was on route to the Twig and Sparrow, our Coffee stop for today ( is this why the pace was good?!). All arrived ready for some of the best coffee around and of course the bacon and egg English muffin ( see photos). ( I’ve said it before, but you can’t beat these!). All arrived that is except young Andrew Henfrey. Proving that perhaps the Route Master gene may have skipped a sibling, Andrew was held up at lights and never saw us again until back at the store. Julie could now take her shoes off and kick back and relax with a coffee! After the Twig and Sparrow experience we all headed back to the store. Another great day!
