Calm Kids Yoga teaches mindfulness practices to help children feel less stressed and happier. Kids can build their resilience, learn to better manage their emotions, improve their concentration, and develop a sense of peacefulness and clarity. Classes run every Monday in the newly refurbished Wellness S...tudio with our fabulous and highly qualified instructor Sally. 4 5pm for ages 4 7 years. 5 6pm for ages 8 12 years. 18.01.2022 Here at Canning Swim School, we firmly believe its never too late to learn how to swim! Peter recently enrolled into Term 3 swimming lessons at Cannington Leisureplex as his goal is to learn how to swim freestyle. Having recently moved into a retirement home, Peter plans to practise his freestyle in the pool thats just been built in his retirement village. His hope is that by participating in swimming lessons and practising in the pool at his retirement village, his fi...tness will improve and hell be able to enjoy the water that much more! He looks forward to his lesson every week and we hope he continues to visit our centres even after he masters his freestyle Way to go Peter! We asked Aislinn what she loved most about this new inclusion: Im asked every day if they can go to the pool! So to be able to visit you guys for free is an extra plus on the parents part. We can go more often and you can spend the entry money on a wee treat from the cafe. We swim at least twice a week, but with the new inclusion we try to come every eveni...ng as well and as for what her kids love most about swimming My 4 year old says his favourite part is swimming lessons, and my 1 year old loves playing in the bubbles and jumping in. 14.01.2022 FAREWELL LIV Liv is leaving the Canning Swim School team to pursue a career as a full-time lawyer in a personal injury firm after recently graduating university and qualifying as a solicitor We asked Liv what she enjoyed most about her job as a Swimming Teacher:... "The best part of swimming teaching for me is when you make a breakthrough with a kid, when theyve been working on a skill for so long and work together to help them nail it!" and as for her favourite level to teach "I like to teach Levels 3 and 4, because the skills they learn like freestyle and breaststroke kick are so important for the rest of their swimming journey. I also enjoy Taddies 1 and 2 because the kids are so cute and are mostly just starting their swimming lessons and are very excited about it!" 07.01.2022 You asked for it, we delivered it! Calm Kids Yoga will officially be commencing at Riverton Leisureplex. A free information night will be running on Monday 31st of August from 4 6pm in the Wellness Studio at Riverton Leisureplex. Parents who are interested in this particular class are encouraged to come down and meet our wonderful instructor Sally who will provide an overview of class structure and expectations as well as answer any questions you may have in relation to the... class. Each parent who attends will also receive a take home information pack. The following week Monday 7th of September classes will commence and will run every Monday thereafter at the following times: *4 - 5pm. 4 - 7 years. *5.15 - 6.15pm 8 - 12 years. Cost of the class will be $12.50 per casual visit or you can purchase a block of 10 x passes for $112.50. 06.01.2022 The weekend of the 4th - 6th September 2020 saw 11 Riverton Aquanauts Inc swimmers attend the 2020 Stage Age & Open Short Course Championships at HBF Stadium This was the best performance by the club to date at a state event, concluding the meeting with 7 Gold, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze medals and 28 personal best times! With 430 competitors from 35 clubs competing, RVAs Jacob Hale (14) was in outstanding form setting the standard that will see him become a major force in pool ...for the 20/21 season, finishing with an amazing 7 Gold medals Both Matthew Loffler (14) and Jordan Preece (17) both relished their return to the pool with Matthew coming away with 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal and Jordan with 2 Bronze medals The swimmers are coached by our very own Gemma, who is the coach of our Riverton Leisureplex Squad Program. Gemma, a Swimming Australia Development Coach, has worked for the City of Canning for 10 years.
