Having a regular health check with your GP can identify early signs of health problems. ... GPs are ideally qualified to incorporate brief preventive health care strategies and health promotion actions into consultations. Many conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, can be picked up in their early stages, which can have an impact on the success of treatment. Your GP will take many factors (including your age, medical history, family history and lifestyle) into consideration when deciding what to include in your check up.
