09.01.2022 November Club Meeting & AGM.

09.01.2022 Another tree down blocking a road. Only one way in and out of the property. Happy to help out a valued member of our community.

09.01.2022 Today, we had 4 members attend a drive around Wyangala Dam, Roseberg State Forest & Pensylvania State Forest. After a couple of tracks that met driver & vehicle abilities at Wyangala in the morning, lunch was had at Woodstock Pub, then back on the (dusty) trail through Roseberg & Pensylvania State Forests. Exploration through the forests was cut short due to clearing fallen trees off tracks in 3 separate locations, but there was still time to fit in a small hill climb when we... came across it. The day was finished with some very refreshing beverages in Blayney. Events like this are available to all paid club members, send us a message to find out more. Alternatively, come along to any of our upcoming Come & Try Days at our purpose built 4WD Test Track!

03.01.2022 If youre looking for something to do this Friday, Saturday or Sunday, head to to the Caravan Camping and Outdoor Expo Central West at the Australian National Field Days site in Borenore. Were set up by the entry from the Blue Car Park, up for chats about anything 4WD or Camping, and will be running demonstration laps around our 4WD Test Track with club vehicles. Demonstration laps will be limited on Friday due to muddy conditions.

03.01.2022 We received a request via email Sunday night for assistance with a stranded vehicle. I made phone contact and found out the vehicle details with location...accurate GPS position (good work). This vehicle got in trouble on Saturday, once he started to slip on his decent, he decided to continued further down the hill before turning around and attempting to drive back up.... As it was clear he was unable to drive back out he reversed back down the track and parked it off the fire trail. ( good work) Unfortunately the driver had taken the keys back to Sydney with him, so he made the trip back to Orange to drop the keys off this morning.( Never take the keys away ...hide one under a rock or leave one with the nearest police station or a 24hour servo) Now armed with a key, I loaded up the Prado with a host of recovery equipment and headed out to ascertain the recovery process as we had planned to do this at night when we had people available. I was able to drive the prado all the way to the stranded vehicle. After a basic check I found both front hubs unlocked, M/T's in good condition, an operational winch, a pair of recovery tracks still wrapped in their plastic in the back. After locking the hubs in, I put the vehicle in low range second gear, I then drove it out with zero slippage. The driver had only had the vehicle for a month, headed off alone, was out in adverse weather conditions, was unfamiliar with the operation of his vehicle and how to use his available recovery gear correctly. The longest part of the recovery was the 1.1km walk back down to get my Prado. He will be looking for a 4wd Club in his area to learn how to enjoy his 4wding safely. He will also be advised to remove the illegal light bar mounted on the bullbar. But kudos to him for have 4 mud flaps on his vehicle.
