21.01.2022 We are very excited to present..... The schedule for our Combined Training and Show Jumping Day...... On the 3rd of October!!! CTD from 50cm through to 5*... SJ from 50cm through to 1.30m We have lots of great prizes on offer, great food and Lesley’s mystery envelopes..... As this is a fundraiser no plaiting and neat casual dress!! 17.01.2022 What an amazing baby horse that just keeps exceeding all expectations of him!! Finishing on his (rather good) dressage score in his first EvA65 and only his sec...ond ever event and after such a big break too!! My only goal this weekend was to get him around and complete the event but to come 2nd out of 26 just blew us away!! To top it off he also came 2nd overall for the OTT Award!! Thanks to the very small but dedicated Canoe Tree Horse Trials committee! Thanks to James Meyer for his major event sponsorship on behalf of the Fleurieu Equine Clinic. And to Vivarchie Equestrian - Saddlery and Apparel for the sponsorship of the class prizes and B-Complete by Banana Feeds Australia for their sponsorship of the OTT prizes! Lastly thankyou to everyone that helped and supported us over both days and all year round, including; Farmalogic Equine, Equine Bit Fit Australia, World's Best Hoof Oil, Caption This Equine Photography and Southern Sport Horses Saddleworld. 03.01.2022 What a fantastic feeling it was to get out eventing again at Canoe Tree Horse Trials! We had a rocky start on Saturday with Sonic struggling in the dressage war...m up and in the ring. With both Sonic and Wally’s phases so close together it was a rush to walk Sonic’s show jumping before running back to get on Wal for his test (the horse and the show jumping the opposite side of the grounds). Wal came out and did a lovely reliable test which was surprisingly calm! I was anticipating some acrobatic attempts from him, but he went in and did the job for a nice mid-sixties score. There was plenty of room for improvements as always but he and I were very happy to be back out! Sonic somewhat redeemed himself jumping and was feeling comfortable and confident over the 105 track. He finished with one rail down and some time penalties from where I took him slowly around the slippery ground. We had a bit of a breather to get sorted for Wally’s show jumping round. He warmed up and jumped really well, it’s just a shame the rider got lost halfway through her round and spent 20 penalties worth of time trying to find the right way For Wal’s first competitive jump back since Tonimbuk I was very happy. Sunday came and it was time for cross country with Sonic. It felt so good to be back out and galloping on course again! Sonic ate the course up and came in clear and under time. We were both very happy to be back out galloping around! I’m very grateful to Mum for her help grooming over the weekend. It was a tight squeeze with the timing on Saturday but it felt a lot easier with her help.
