15.01.2022 Big Happy's Emporium of timber and pressed tin designs have been making some very nice coffee tables with our timber. Here are a couple of photos of his work with more on his facebook page. Worth checking out!

13.01.2022 Our latest project from the workshop. The top of this children's table is made with quartersawn ironbark boards from a tree that died in the 2013 bushfires. This is a common amount of curl (the spotty figure in the grain) in ironbark which is only seen on the quartersawn board. It makes for a unique look and is also the most stable 'cut' of timber so great for joining to make wide pieces such as this table top. If your in the Warrumbungles go check it out at the visitors centre!

11.01.2022 Great to see what all those dirty sleepers look like on the inside! A customer brought these in to have sliced up and will end up in a table/ bench top. Old dirty ironbark like this we run the mill at $100/hr (80/hr for green ironbark and just about anything else) to account for the extra wear and lubrication required. Even still these 7 sleepers only took 1.5hrs. If anyone has tried cutting these things before you would know how hard and rough on the machine they can be!

10.01.2022 It's always a pleasure milling a nice silky oak log. This one is fairly large for this part of the world at 700mm. A few nice slabs and some 200x50 quartersawn boards to make the most of the beautiful oak grain.

08.01.2022 Nice to get a few more quarter sawn boards on the drying racks. Lots of nice curly grain in this log!
