20.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE The Canowindra International Balloon Challenge will be back in 2021. After a huge amount of community support in 2020 the organisers were devastat...ed to have to cancel the event due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And while the organising committee has had its hands full finishing up the loose ends from this year's non-event, They have their eye firmly on the future, We are ready and raring to go for 2021! says Andrew Pull, President of the organising committee. The 2021 Canowindra International Balloon Challenge will be a fantastic event and we are looking forward to welcoming back all of our sponsors, balloon teams, visitors and locals to this amazing event that’s perfect for the whole family and is mostly free. Local business owner and Board member, Sarah Cummings says This is one of the bigger events for our region and it does bring a lot to the local businesses in and around Canowindra. We are a very proud and friendly town and it’s a great opportunity to showcase our many talents, amongst one of the most beautiful regional areas in NSW. Balloonists are also looking forward to coming back to Canowindra for next year's event and initial responses indicate a large number of balloons for the event next year. Next year is a really busy time for the balloonists with three other events happening in the 6 weeks before our event, so it's great to see such an early commitment from the balloonists says Board member Annette Thomas, The busy balloonist calendar has also meant the organisers needed a slightly different time slot with the event now occurring after the First term school holidays. Andrew Pull says We want to be able to provide the best event we can and we need to push the dates back a week to accommodate existing ballooning events so we can get the maximum number of balloons at the event. There will be something for everybody at this years event and we encourage everyone to keep up to date by following our website and Facebook sites as we release more information over the coming months, but for now SAVE THE DATE and we look forward to seeing you all in Canowindra in April next year This year's event will run from Saturday 24th April until Sunday 2nd May. With the famous Nightglow to be held on the evening of Saturday the 1st May. Regular updates will be posted on the Canowindra International Balloon Challenge webpage and social media accounts: www.canowindrachallenge.org.au www.facebook.com/canowindraballoonchallenge www.Instagram.com/canowindrachallenge

07.01.2022 Council is in the early stages of master planning for the future for the seven swimming centres, Cudal, Cumnock, Canowindra, Eugowra, Manildra, Molong and Yeova...l. The masterplan study is to develop a long-term plan that responds to current and forecast community and infrastructure needs. It will provide a prioritized framework and make key recommendations for relevant upgrades to enhance the safety, design and functionality of the facilities. This first stage of consultation, we’re gathering information to assist in the development of the draft strategy. A survey will be sent directly to user groups including school and other community groups. This community survey has been set up to hear from residents and interested persons on your current use or non-use of the swimming centres and determine the priorities you would like to see for them in the future. If you are a community member, we would like to hear from you by completing the community survey by clicking here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CabonneCommunitySurvey This first phase of consultation concludes on 27 November 2020.
