20.01.2022 At Dentistry in Canterbury, we have strict infection control guidelines to adhere to regardless of what else is happening in the world. Last year, our practice became an accredited practice which means we have additional guidelines and quality assurances to meet daily. As a team, we have been trained and prepared for this scenario for our entire careers. Infection control is the 1st module taught to every member of the dental team. We practice standard precautions for every... patient for every procedure. This means that we assume that EVERY patient has an infectious or a communicable disease transmissible via aerosols or water droplets. In an effort to reduce aerosols in our practice and create an even safer environment for both our team and our valued patients, we are working with our fantastic team of hygienists who are seeing patients for cleans using hand instruments in favour of our tools that create water spray. We have also stopped accepting case as payment and have increased our environmental cleaning our common spaces within the practice. Should you have any concerns regarding attending our practice for treatment, please call us on 9888 5555 and we will happily have a chat and hopefully ease your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Sending love, positivity and smiles from Julie, Grace, Bojana and the team at Dentistry in Canterbury See more

17.01.2022 The faces we make when an absolute star of a patient drops of a "Thank You" gift in the form of the most delicious chocolate! Moments like this that make us so grateful to have fantastic patients! #dentistryincanterbury #smiles

16.01.2022 Tuesday Teeth Talk! Our next patient came to us concerned with her front teeth. A combination of breakdown in natural tooth structure and failing old fillings were contributing to the poor aesthetics. Dr Bojana Aboud worked with the patient providing 5 composite veneers. Composite veneers are a minimally invasive and cost-effective treatment option. Safe to say that our patient was over the moon with her result! Our next phase of treatment for this patient will be providing composite veneers to improve the appearance of the lower teeth. Stayed tuned for the final result! #dentistryincanterbury #yoursmileourpassion #veneers #smile #melbournedentist #composite #compositeveneers #3126 #womenindentistry #drbojanaaboud #dentalassistant

11.01.2022 Stress! Let’s be real! Due to Covid-19, we all may be feeling the impact and stress of our changed lives. This can be expressed as clenching and grinding. HOW DO I KNOW IF CLENCH OR GRIND MY TEETH? To be honest, lots of patients aren’t generally aware! If you grind your teeth, your partner may tell you that they hear you doing so at night. Clenching, however, cannot be heard, but can also be seen by your dentist in the chair. Grinding and clenching signs include chipping or w...earing down of the teeth, increased tooth sensitivity and some chips coming away from the gum line. Physical symptoms that can occur are feeling tight in the cheek muscles, headaches upon waking and tension in the head and neck. As we are in quite a stressful time many of us may notice these symptoms start to appear clenching and grinding can start with stress too! Your dentist can make you a custom-made appliance called a night splint to prevent further damage to your teeth such as cracks. Cracks in teeth that are left untreated can potentially lead to the tooth splitting which only means an extraction. HOW DO WE PREVENT SOME OF THESE STRESSES? In the evening before going asleep, try to create a relaxing nighttime routine. Apps like Calm can help you unwind by talking you through breathing exercise and even some gentle yoga. Just don’t be tempted to check that work email that conveniently pops up at 10pm! For now, take care out there and check in with your stress levels, your mind AND your teeth, will thank you! #dentistryincanterbury #dentalcare #preventstress #dentaltherapy #dentalhygiene #preventioniscure #canterburydentist #stressless #breathe See more

02.01.2022 Hi everyone! Gabby, oral health therapist at Dentistry in Canterbury here! - L E TS T A L K D I E T - In these unprecedented times of working from home, homeschooling children and elevated stress, make time for your health. Many patients have been explaining at appointments that because they arent leaving the house, they have stopped flossing or twice daily brushing. Your heels, lippy or favorite fancy tie may be having a holiday in the wardrobe but many of us hav...e teeth working harder than ever with all the snacking! Try keeping sugary drinks such as juice or fizzy to sometimes drinks and having at the same time as a meal. We all sometimes want to eat our feelings with ice cream and choccies and if this is the case, now is a more important time than ever to be perfecting that home care regime. Floss in the evening brush twice a day and spit out your toothpaste but do not rinse it off, leave it on your teeth like a moisturiser! We are still open and operating with our fabulous team to care for our wonderful patients, we have extremely high levels of infection control in dentistry and being an accredited practice - additionally we are taking further steps above and beyond to keep our patients and ourselves healthy. Take care out there and have a wonderful day! #dentistryincanterbury #oralhealth #oralhealththerapist #healthysmiles #healthyteeth #drjulieghaly #drgracecampbell

01.01.2022 Hey parents! With summer holidays fast approaching, it’s time to check the diaries for dental check-ups for the kids! To help accommodate the busy schedule that is life, we have an amazing addition and a treasure to our dental practice; our oral health therapists!
