18.01.2022 OUR STORY: 15 years ago today Aussie Lifestyle Properties officially began to trade. During the day I looked back on how it all started, and where we are today. I was encouraged by my parents to start my own business, it was a massive step, but along with my wife and kids, their love and support throughout the years has given me strength and I continue to put in the hard yards and strive for success. I began with 5 rental properties. They were owned by my friends and one of t...hem is still a customer. I am so grateful to them as that’s where it all started and their trust and loyalty helped get me to where I am today. I started Working out of a study in my home in Boyland and then we built a Titan Shed on our property and moved the office into there. Only this week we came across my original hand written ledger cards and journals, with the 5 original properties, that brought a smile and I gave myself a pat on the back, how far we have come. Since, we moved the office into Canungra township, and things really hit it off having a shop front but that was a very stressful decision, I didn’t know if it was going to work? I was encouraged by Keer from The Canungra Times to take over part of her shop, but how do I afford to pay rent? I didn’t even earn a wage? Just do it I thought to myself and it will work out. I tend to do that... After years of hard work, we purchased the property that I struggled to find $80 per week to pay rent. Now we manage approx 100 rental properties, expanded into sales and are one of the top real estate agencies in the area. We currently employ 3 staff along with Karen and myself, oops I nearly forgot to mention Tess our dog who did attend the staff party last year and counts herself as staff, we have a great team/family. Together we have earned and built trust in our community. Looking back, it’s a tough industry, but I also have rewarding times. The most rewarding for me is making sure our clients, tenants and staff are happy, where can we improve and know we do our job well. That brings a big smile on my face and that’s why I started 15 years ago, to make sure everyone has a fair go and that we do it right and to me that is success. 18.01.2022 A little humor for the day... FYI: If planning on visiting North Queensland or any of Queensland, we’re doing OK here right now with COVID cases. We watch in horror as the rest of the country spikes and wonder how long before it makes its way here. So if you plan on vacationing at our rivers, lakes or on our waterfalls this winter, I think you should know that red ants and bedbugs have infested hotels, motels and cabins across the area due to an unusual spring. Crocs have ea...ten all domesticated animals and some smaller people. We have had rabid dingo sightings at every park and town. We have Bigfoots INVADING OUR PARKS. Porcupines "stabbing" small children should they dare to enter the Bush! Drop bears have made their way over and multiplied at unprecedented rates and wander the local campgrounds in packs. Murder hornets!?! We’ve got SHITLOADS of murder hornets. Not to mention the nasty redbacks Head lice now fly... right beside the bats. So stay where you are, in your own state or country where it's safe! Seriously, PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE... and we also have NO TOILET PAPER!! Copy and paste

I’m meeting with council on behalf of the Canungra Chamber of Commerce next week to discuss some options, however in the meantime if anyone is able to park at the arts hall (next to medical centre)or Lions park (across the bridge) both public parking (approx 100m) this may help our current parking issues in town.
