25.01.2022 We face a challenging weekend with the fire danger rating for Saturday as VERY HIGH and Sunday's could be higher according to BOM. Its never too late to review your fire plan, prep your home and your property. Stay safe. If you see unexplained fire or smoke dial 000 immediately.

17.01.2022 Tugalong Rd is now open via a sidetrack on an adjoining property. Trees, branches and snapped limbs on all Canyonleigh roads. Take extreme care.

14.01.2022 Many thanks to the community members that visited us last Saturday for our Get Ready Weekend event - especially those new to Canyonleigh. Creating a fire plan, or updating your fire plan is critical just prior to bush fire season - let all your family and friends get involved. Bush Fire season starts on 1 October, so if you have any pile burns ready to go, get prepared (but not when the wind is too strong). Thanks again Canyonleigh - we appreciate your support.

11.01.2022 FDR for Thursday is HIGH - warm temps and north-west wind. Even though its green and still damp around the properties and bush, chance of a storm and lightning strike does pose a risk. Stay safe and aware.

09.01.2022 Endeavour Energy is aware of the situation but due to heavy call outs in the Highlands our incident could be a number of hours before they attend. Please be patient as the lines must be repaired then the tree removed.

09.01.2022 If you want to contribute to your community, CFR is a critical service.

08.01.2022 The FDR for Monday 16 Nov is VERY HIGH - temps in the 30s and west to north-westerly winds. Your property prepared? Fire Plan in place? Please be careful. Thank you.

06.01.2022 Canyonleigh Community First Responders (CFR) are seeking new members. Without the help of local residents, this service to the community may be lost. Did you kn...ow, when you call 000 and ask for an Ambulance, you may be waiting for a paramedic to respond from Campbelltown, Bankstown, or Picton if all Bowral crew as busy. Canyonleigh CFR respond as soon as the call is logged, often arriving within 10 mins. This quick response is vital in cardiac and trauma cases. No previous medical experience necessary. Full training provided my NSW Ambulance. If you would like more information, please dont hesitate to call NSW Ambulance Clinical Volunteer Coordination Centre, or pm me for more details.

06.01.2022 Many Australians like Jim learned some terrifying lessons in the last bush fire season.

04.01.2022 The FDR for Sunday 29 Nov remains at VERY HIGH and a TOBAN is in place until midnight. In a Total Fire Ban no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended. This includes incinerators and barbecues (BBQ) which burn solid fuel, e.g. wood, charcoal or heat beads. No general purpose welding, grinding, soldering or gas cutting can be done in the open. The use of machinery such as mowers and slashers is also included in the ban. If you see smoke or fire call Triple Zero immediately.

03.01.2022 The start of bush fire season is just days away: 1 October. If you are planning a pile burn, it must be extinguished by midnight on 30 Sept. Bush Fire Plan ready? Gutters clean? Cobwebs swept away? Its never too late to Get Ready.
