15.01.2022 Hi everyone. Unfortunately we need to cancel tomorrow nights (25/2/20) swim night due to last weeks storm having caused damage to the pools plant equipment. The school is currently working on securing parts to fix, and the pool chemicals will need to stabilised before access is granted. I'll be emailing all families tonight, and updating the website. Any questions please feel free to reach out. We apologise for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
15.01.2022 Hi team. We've just heard some bad news from school administration that specific pool equipment has had damage caused by yesterdays crazy storm. Due to this, parts are required to fix the system, and the pool water isn't currently being treated making it not safe to swim. With all that, we've had to cancelled tomorrow nights (27/10) swim event and will reassess with the school towards the end of the week on the status of the pool. We do apologise for the inconvenience, especially so soon into the swim club season. If you can share this post with people you know at the club to ensure it reaches all. Any questions don't hesitate to contact us. :)

12.01.2022 Thanks for everyone who attended our first swim night tonight. It was a little cold, but we got through it pretty quick. Tonight’s swim heat results have now been uploaded to the website if you want to check out how the kids went. Our new free season booklet (available to grab at the canteen) now includes a results record so you can keep track of your child’s performance each night. It’s also not too late for anyone wanting to join the club, so spread the word to family or ...friends who might be looking for a Tuesday night activities for the kids. Look forward to seeing you all next week! Https://www.capalabaswimmingclub.org.au/results

Just a heads up regarding tomorrow night 26th March, as its the last official swim event, and for a bit of fun, we've decided we will swim freestyle & backstroke events as normal, however we will have relays to replace the rest. Nomination forms for relays will be at the nomination desk as well as online. Any questions feel free to come and see us on the night, or hit us up in the comments below.

09.01.2022 What are nominations? Nominations are the swimmers choice of swim strokes he or she plans to compete in that night. For example a swimmer might mark down 25m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, and leave off Butterfly completely if they aren't comfortable in that stroke. The choice is completely up to the swimmer but each swim time is recorded and saved to the swimmers personal record card to compare down the track. Nominations need to be lodged at the nomination table (or better, in advanced via our website) no later than 15mins prior to first swims at 6:30pm.
09.01.2022 Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great Xmas and New Years break. This is a reminder that swim club kicks off again on the 28th of Jan (first day back at school for most). 09.01.2022 Hi team, The coronavirus (COVID-19) is continuing to be a growing concern worldwide and the Australian Government Department of Health and QLD Health are closely monitoring the evolving situation regarding the outbreak. Many of you would be getting updates from your children’s schools around measures that are being put in place. As we are a sub-committee of Capalaba State College P&C we take our guidance from the School, Principal and the P&C seriously. What is the Capalaba ...Amateur Swimming Club doing to reduce the risk? There are three swim nights remaining of the season Tonight Tuesday 17th March, Tuesday 24th March & 31st March. Our commitment is to ensure that you are looked after safely and effectively to the best of our ability. At this stage, swim club nights will proceed with the following precautions: The marshalling area will not be used for the remaining club nights. Children are to remain in the care of adults at all times and be expected to remain seated in the grandstand when not participating. Setting up a hand sanitising station at the canteen for all patrons to use, regardless if you are making a canteen purchase or not. What can you do? Limit your attendance at club nights to only those swimming and at least one supervising adult. Where possible, those not directly involved in either swimming or supervising, to stay at home. Frequently wash your hands with soap and water, or an alcohol based hand rub. Avoid close contact with others, maintain social distancing of 1.5m. Anyone who has travelling internationally, or may have been in contact with a person with COVID-19, to not attend the remaining swim club nights. Anyone unwell with respiratory illness to seek medical advice and remain at home until symptoms resolve. Further Updates We will continue to provide updates via our Facebook Page and by email. We will update this information as circumstances change. Thank you for your support for helping to keep our swim club community safe. It is likely with the ways things are going that this may well be our last swim night for this season. However we are closely monitoring the situation and will inform you of any changes. The direction thus far has been we are fine to proceed with tonight's club night. Things are changing daily though so we will keep you posted if there are any further updates.
08.01.2022 As part of our requirement as a subcommittee of the P&C, all volunteers who willingly help on any swim club night, just need to write there name and sign in on the volunteer register. This register will be placed at the nominations stand each night. Simple right?

08.01.2022 Hi everyone. Just a reminder this Tuesday 20th we’re kicking off our season. If you haven’t already completed the online season registration form please do so before Tuesday night and help reduce the risk of us running late importing the kids into the system before we kickoff. (Can be a tricky task at times). If you have any questions we’ll be there from around 4pm, so feel free to come on down early if you wish. Otherwise no later than 6:00 (swim heat nominations must be in ...by 6:15pm sharp), for a 6:30pm first event starting time. Don’t forget, save time and nominate online before you arrive. 08.01.2022 Hi team We have some bad news. In light of everything going on in the world today, and in discussions with the P&C executive team and the School administration, last Tuesday was officially our last swim night for the season. This means the 24th and 31st of March swim nights are now unfortunately cancelled. At this stage, the Trophy Night is postponed until a future date can be decided. It is a bitter pill to swallow to not be able to bring our season to its fitting conclusion... but these are challenging times we find ourselves in. A massive thank you to all of our Capalaba Swimmers and families who have helped out over the past 6 months, and it's amazing to see the club grow year on year. Please stay close to our page and check your emails, when we have any further information we will share about the Trophy night will let you know.
07.01.2022 Hey guys. Whilst is fairly gloomy out there, we’re still on for swim club tonight. We’re keeping a close eye on bom.gov.au for any lightning in the area we’ll call it. But hope to see you soon!
07.01.2022 Hi team. We're not having a great start to the season this year. We just got the below notice from the College administration: --------------------------------------------------------------------- Parts have arrived and the Contractor is expected to commence repairs today. Repairs are expected to take 3 days to complete. The pool's chemical dosing and filtration system will be non-operational whilst this work takes place. Once the repairs are completed it will take 2 days t...o get the water quality back into balance and the pool water clean. During this time it is not safe to swim and the pool is not able to be used. Thank you for your patience whilst we complete these urgent repairs. Parents will be notified today. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the pool will be out of action for most of this week, we will have no choice but to cancel tomorrow nights (10/11/20) swim event. It sounds like once the repairs are in, things should run as schedule from there forth. We do apologise for this, once again. If you can share this with other attendees that would be great. Please let us know if you have any questions. See more
