19.01.2022 Our patient of the week is Chardonnay! She came to the clinic for a spey! Chardonnay's procedure was slightly different from our regular speys as she is 2 years old (We perform most spey's around 6 months!) She recovered wonderfully despite those sad puppy eyes! Its never too late to desex your pet! If you arent sure if its right for your pet, we are always happy to answer any questions you have! 3390 1188

15.01.2022 Is your pet suffering from storm phobia? Separation anxiety? Or just anxiety in general? We've got the product to help! Zylkene is an additive to your pets daily meal (dogs & cats!) that contains a natural product derived from casein, a protein in milk. It is a molecule well known to promote the relaxation of newborns after breastfeeding. Like being milk-drunk! ... Zylkene is palatable and easy to give: simply mix with food or give the whole capsule. A whole box will generally last you an entire month! And best of all, because Zylkene is a natural & drug-free additive, you don't need a prescription to buy it! We currently stock Zylkene on our shelves! If you want to know if it will work for your pet give us a call today! (07) 3390 1188

13.01.2022 We've updated our clinic protocols We ask that you follow these new protocols to ensure the health & safety of our team, reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure we all remain safe & healthy to continue to provide vital care, food & medication for your pets. If your pet needs veterinary care, food or medication, please call us so we can make arrangements to assist you... Make use of our online store BetterPets for ordering and delivery of any food or preventative you may need Limit the number of people presenting your pet to just ONE owner When arriving for your appointment or to collect medication or food, if there is already a client inside the clinic please wait in your car or outside the clinic and call the clinic If there is someone being served at our reception desk please wait outside until they have left During a physical examination of your pet, our team may be required to take your pet into a separate consult room or treatment area. You will get to speak to the vet both before and after they examine your pet Please follow all social distancing requirements set out by the Health Authorities when dealing with our team Please make use of hand sanitiser when entering the clinic Make all payments via pay wave or credit/debit card over the phone, where possible We are working hard to ensure we can continue to provide complete veterinary care and we want to ensure that our clients, their pets, and our staff all remain healthy. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

04.01.2022 10 cool tips to keep your pet and safe this summer: 1. Regular brushing to remove knots and mats. - This aids with circulation and helps regulate body temperature. ... 2. Hairless, white and/or short haired breed pets are more prone to sunburn. - Ensure you have pet-safe sunscreen and apply it to exposed areas! 3. NEVER EVER leave your pet alone in a car. 4. Ensure fresh water is always accessible & kept in a shady area 5. Short walks should be in the early morning or evening hours to avoid midday sun/heat. - This will also avoid burnt paw pads, heat stroke, sun burn and exhaustion 6. Keep your backyard tidy by clearing undergrowth, filling holes in the ground, mowing the lawn regularly, and clearing away toys, wood and tools which all make great hiding places for snakes. 7. Familiarise yourself with any plants that may be poisonous! 8. Make sure your pet’s are up to date with their flea and tick preventions. 9. Block off access to pools and never leave your pets unsupervised at the beach/ lake - Doggie life vests can also save your pet from drowning. 10. If possible, let your pets stay inside your home so that they aren’t outdoors during the hottest times of the day. If your pet shows signs of heatstroke call us or your nearest emergency clinic immediately. Heatstroke in cats & dogs can cause unseen problems, such as swelling of the brain, kidney failure, intestinal bleeding and blood clots.
