21.01.2022 "Before CAP I was hopeless. Paying bills, loans and credit cards off minimum payment then booking up again to try to live. I was never going to have my debts cleared. I was devastated and ashamed. Now I know that at the end of all my debt I will be able to live. I can have a meal out with friends and not be scared or ashamed. I feel so proud of what I have achieved. CAP has saved my life." ... Hannah*, Debt Help Client

20.01.2022 At the beginning of the year, we wanted to invite everyone to a party to celebrate 20 years of CAP, but it seemed impossible... 2020 (aka COVID) + 20th birthday + live streaming tech = a virtual party where everyone, everywhere can come! Hundreds of people from over 150 locations across the country are already laying out their best outfits and planning delicious dinners come join in!
20.01.2022 Having lived most of their lives in the UK, Glyn & Alice love summer! But as pensioners, they were vulnerable to shocks and were hit hard when the value of the pound and their pension suddenly plummeted. "We were really struggling and we had a credit card bill and we were trying to manage ourselves, but it was getting bigger and bigger. I’d say we were struggling for 12 to 18 months"... Stressed, worrying about living week to week, they couldn't enjoy the little things in life. Glyn got sick and Alice struggled with anxiety and depression. On recommendation from their daughter, they made the call to CAP. It took some time, but they got their budget in order, and 18 months later received the call to say they'd officially paid off all their debts! "We looking forward to the future, looking forward to the summer. We're happy."
18.01.2022 As a Christian community, how do we reach out to a frightened world? For a bit of encouragement, check out the blog below
18.01.2022 Last Christmas, you met Trixie and her three children in rural Victoria. Well, to kick off Christmas this year Trixie has a very special update for you!
16.01.2022 Ron & Mary may not have family nearby, but they are not alone! In their church, they have a community, and in CAP they have an advocate. This means Ron & Mary can focus on the most important things being there for their son and working towards bringing him home for good, so they can be a family again!
16.01.2022 The final day of #UnpackPoverty! High Living Costs Living costs in Australia have increased, and overall, wages have grown too. But so has something else inequality. For low income families, their wages have not increased in line with the rising cost of living, leaving them less able to afford the basics.... More than ever, tools for financial wellbeing are life saving for CAP clients like Josh & Corinne. These tools can be freely available for those who desperately need them, with your help https://bit.ly/2ItsP7S
14.01.2022 Natalie was working hard to support her children, but was stuck in a cycle of debt. Then, a traumatic domestic violence event left her struggling with mental illness and her debt spiraled out of control. Shortly after Natalie’s mum her greatest support lost her battle with cancer. It was a huge blow, but Natalie didn't stay down. I got referred to CAP and the lady that showed up was Vanessa. If she hadn’t come out to visit me in my home, I’d never have made it. Vanessa s...upported me the whole way through. I didn’t feel alone anymore and now she’s become a beautiful friend. Natalie | Debt free, hope-filled, known and loved.

07.01.2022 The holiday season can be full of joy, but for CAP clients, there are also opportunities for that joy to be robbed. Family dynamics and financial pressure can cause anxiety, and as people share the ways they are enjoying the season, it can be easy to compare and feel bad for not being able to afford elaborate gifts, meals and decorations. Please pray for CAP clients during this time, that they would receive the gift of peace and for protection from comparison.... "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." [John 14:27].
03.01.2022 "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" [Isiah 9:6] Merry Christmas from the CAP Family to yours
03.01.2022 Are you feeling equipped to manage your finances, no matter what 2021 brings? If this question fills your mind with fear, be encouraged by 2 Timothy 1:7. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline"... So before January disappears, take a deep breath and set up some new year money resolutions. Here are a few tips to get you started! https://snip.ly/u6heb2
