24.01.2022 The Aussie Backyard Bird count is this week! Why not head out into your backyard and enjoy this lovely spring weather & count the birds you can see. We are lucky to have so many gorgeous birds where we live! To register and to find out how to share your count info - go to their website https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/ . They also have an App you can download. The #AussieBirdCount is a great way to connect with the birds in your backyard no matter where your backyard happe...ns to be a suburban backyard, a local park, a patch of forest, down by the beach, or the main street of town. You can count as many times as you like over the week, we just ask that each count is completed over a 20-minute period. The data collected assists BirdLife Australia in understanding more about the birds that live where people live.

22.01.2022 Cape Clear now has a book library set up at the Post Office, for people to borrow, leave or swap books! Thank you to the Cape Clear Community Group for setting up this initiative while the library bus is out of action.
21.01.2022 From Michelle, the owner of Snags (AKA Pancakes) Hello all.....I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the Cape Cear community for all the support provided to us in spreading the word and in searching for Snags. We feel incredibly blessed to have received this support and to have met so many great people who made a terrible situation far more bearable. We would like to show our appreciation and extend an invite to all involved to pop in to see us at anytime (at the pub) for a drink and to meet snags. We would ideally like to have a BBQ but due to current restrictions will need to postpone this celebration for hopefully not too far away. But we would absolutely love to meet you all under better circumstances and celebrate!! We will be home from rhis afternoon onwards and all weekend.

07.01.2022 New Covid19 restrictions update... Regional Victoria has been placed again in stage 3 restrictions, beginning this Wednesday 5 August at 11:59pm. This means that we can leave the house for four reasons only: medical appointments, shopping for essentials, work or exercise. Masks must be worn at all times outside the house. No regional Victorian should enter Melbourne for any reason. Police will be enforcing restrictions with greater vigour than at earlier periods.
