14.01.2022 As a lover of midcentury modern design who started collecting vintage items as a teenager, Steffie Hands couldn't resist when her neighbor offered to sell the 1...963 Ford Thunderbird she been gazing at from across the street. The neighbor had enlisted Hands, a real-estate agent who specializes in historic homes, to help sell his house. While they were doing the deal, he asked if she was interested in buying the T-Bird. "I was not prepared to own a vintage car, but once I sat in it, I knew this was my car," said the Long Beach, Calif., resident, who bought it for about a third less than market value. Hands now cruises all over Southern California in the T-Bird, whose styling is influenced by the early 1960s jet age. She also ended up meeting original members of a car club called the Mercifuls, founded in 1968, and became only the second woman to join. "This car has become part of me," she said. "My husband and my 12-year-old son have strict instructions that when I pass away, the T-Bird stays in the Hands family." Read more: https://on.wsj.com/2H5nbER : Morgan Lieberman for WSJ See more

12.01.2022 From the Thunderbird's introduction in the Fall of '54 to the last 1966 model that rolled off the assembly line, Ford's personal luxury car went through some ma...jor design changes. Out of the first 4 generations, which one is your favorite? #TBirdTuesday #ThunderbirdTuesday #Ford #FordThunderbird #Thunderbird #NationalPartsDepot #RestoringAmericanHistory #RestoringAmericanHistorySince1976 #BuildYourDream

12.01.2022 The 4th generation "Flair Birds" of 1964-66 were the most popular Thunderbirds in history, with sales of 236,613 units & again offering the buyer a choice of 21...+ colours. Still, in Perth, its appears most Tbirders are happy with a handful of choices. Wimbledon White appears the winner in front of Rangoon Red this time, but you can't ignore the beautiful examples of Diamond Blue & Tahoe Turquoise. I remember seeing a '64 Coupe in Rose Beige Metallic at the showroom "All American", back in the mid '90's. Fantastic colour, but I've never seen it since. Not sure where all the Raven Black "Flair Birds" have gone either ? See more
