24.01.2022 New research has reaffirmed the importance of pregnant women to sleep on their side. MRIs identified decreased blood flow to the uterus when pregnant women were scanned on their back compared to their side. #research
24.01.2022 Women with diabetes can have healthy pregnancies and babies, but some planning should be done. The National Diabetes Services Scheme has some great resources available to help women with diabetes who want to get pregnant. 15.01.2022 A UNSW team has conducted a COVID-19 meta-analysis study with findings that may help to inform future policy and decision-making about potential vaccination for young children and maternal immunisation programs. While severity of the disease is generally mild for under-fives, more research is needed for prevention and management strategies particularly for asymptomatic cases which made up over 50% of those infected. 14.01.2022 With rain recently across much of the east coast it is just a matter of time before mosquito populations boom. Apart from being annoying, mosquitoes can transmit harmful diseases, especially for pregnant women. Check your state’s health website for advice to avoid mosquito bites.
