23.01.2022 Wet Season in the Torres Strait. A great photo of the Cape Air Pilots taken last week. Another busy day yet the weather will never dampen our desire to offer the very best in customer service. Thank you to our customers for supporting Cape Air Transport and we look forward to seeing you next time.

23.01.2022 I would like to share 2 really good photos with you today. One is the sunrise, taken by the Torres Vending boys preparing to go to Bamaga for the day. The other photograph is of a Heart in the Reef taken by one of our pilots. Pretty cool. Another busy day tomorrow looking after our passengers. I am hoping for good weather. Have a great evening everyone.

22.01.2022 Important travel update for all our Torres Strait customers

21.01.2022 At Cape Air Transport we love to see enthusiastic teenagers who aspire to become pilots. Jacob Lui (pictured below) is just 12 years old and is focussing on just that. Travelling frequently with Cape Air Transport between Trinity Bay State High School and his home in Erub, Jacob absorbs all of the information that he is given by the pilot, who for this flight was Jason. Jason's advice to young Jacob is to 'Follow his Dream'. Jason was just 3 years older than Jacob when he s...tarted flying and with a lot of hard work and training over the years, we are proud to have him flying for CAT. Jason began his career as a jump pilot, dropping parachuting adventurers over the beaches of Western Australia. From there he worked for the Department of Parks and Wildlife as a pilot in the role of fire detection and surveillance. Early detection of fires clearly aids in the quick reaction of the services, and reduces the damage caused from this destruction. With over 1000 hours Jason is extending his career in the stunning Torres Strait region and is overwhelmed with the natural beauty of the region. His aim, currently, is to give back to the community and become a pilot for the Royal Flying Doctors. We hope to see young Jacob having similar experiences in the years to come. Who knows! perhaps he will be flying passengers around this region in years to come. (Cape Air Transport would like to thank Shane Lui for permitting us to publish the photographs of Jacob and the editorial.)

20.01.2022 This weekend was a busy one. The Queen's Baton for the Commonwealth Games travelled with the team to the Torres Strait yesterday as part of the Queen's Baton Relay. Cape Air Transport were pleased to bring the Muyngu Koe Kaper Dance Team into Thursday Island from Saibai Island for the weekend.

18.01.2022 A big thank you to one of our guests today for sharing his photograph of Poruma (Coconut Island). A great shot and a beautiful island.

03.01.2022 Yam Island appears to have also been struggling with the weather, I see from the write up in the Cairns Post. Wishing all of those residents the very best of luck with recovering from any flooding. I hope it has eased.
