25.01.2022 This is worth watching and reflecting on

23.01.2022 Just thought I would share a quote from Camus ('The Plague')... "It may seem a ridiculous idea, but the only way to fight the plague is with decency." Well, there are other measures we need to take .... but decency is a good place to start. So here are my 'decency' suggestions....... 1. Follow all advice - if you are unwell, please don't go out and mix with others. 2. Don't add to the 'panic load' by endlessly gossiping about the latest disaster news. 3. Don't get your medical advice, government advisories, or health information from social media. It's social media. Go to the government or WHO websites if you need updates. If you are sick call your GP and ask for advice. 4. Check in on people who might be a bit vulnerable and see how they are.... a phone call, email or text message could make the world of difference to someone. 5. Don't buy more than you need. There is enough to go around and let's all have the thought, "I will only take what is needed and leave enough for others." 6. Remember, this too shall pass. It helps to think of that moment in the future when we will turn to each other and say, "remember that time the virus spread and we had to change the way we did things for a while?" What is happening now will eventually be just a part of the story of our journeys...... having some perspective can really help to calm anxiety. Let's all be decent. Let's support each other and let's remember this is a time for us to show our compassion, kindness and care. Nerrida

14.01.2022 I have emailed all parents this morning, asking that parents keep children home if at all possible. We are still open for those children who simply can't stay home - but we are very clearly asking parents to keep children home if at all possible. There is very clear evidence that we need to be physically isolating now to protect our community. We will have our school-at-home systems up and running by Friday and will email all parents about this in the next 24 hours. Thank you for supporting us in this difficult time. It is not an easy thing to ask parents to keep their children away from school - but this is a time for making decisions in the best interests of our community. Nerrida
