14.01.2022 Dear Visitors and Families of Residential Care clients. Late Yesterday the Capecare COVID-19 response team made the decision to put the residential facility into a preventative lock down. The decision to not allow visitors into the facility is one that we have taken with the residents as our number one priority in our decision. Our Facility Manager and Clinical Nurses will be available to discuss your individual needs or concerns from Monday. In the mean time stay safe and remember social distancing, good hand hygiene and coughing etiquette will help slow this down and potentially save lives of our most vulnerable.

03.01.2022 Renowned West Australian mural artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers has completed 2 of 3 large scale murals at our Capecare Dunsborough site, and we captured some shots of him in action. Kyle's been inspired by local nature in his design and given it a modern twist in his signature style. There's still the entry statement mural to complete but we couldn't wait to show you his progress. Including public art at Capecare Dunsborough provides an opportunity to lighten people's spirits, cre...ate conversation and encourage interaction. 01.01.2022 Were thrilled to share the news that Elizabeth Hogarth has been appointed as Capecare Chief Executive Officer. Elizabeth has been acting in the position of CEO since May 2020 and has been a key member of Capecares executive and leadership team since 2017. Our Chair Nadine Carter said Elizabeth is an exceptional leader and her track record in clinical and operational management has been extraordinary. She has developed a solid reputation for her collaborative leadership st...yle and for building high performance clinical and business support teams. As Chief Operating Officer, Elizabeth lead the implementation of new aged care reforms and commissioning planning for Capecares new fully-integrated Dunsborough facility, due for completion in June 2021. She will continue to head the development of our preparedness and response planning to COVID-19. We are extremely fortunate to have appointed a leader with Elizabeths level of experience, knowledge, skills, passion, and vision to enable people as they age too live connected, enriched lives as valued members of the Capes community. Elizabeth holds a Diploma of Higher Nursing Studies, Bachelor of Commerce in Business Law and Management and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration in Leadership. She said she is extremely fortunate to be heading an organisation with strong community values and heritage dating back more than 50 years. When I joined Capecare three years ago I was so impressed with the strong cultural values held by staff members across the organisation. Being an independent organisation allows us to provide personalised care and be adaptive to changes in the community and further afield, and this has held us in great stead. With Capecare Dunsborough soon to come to fruition, expanding our integrated homestyle care in the region, we have an exciting future as we continue to deliver on our vision and mission and serve the needs of our community. If you would like to get in contact with Elizabeth you can reach her at [email protected] .

01.01.2022 Many of you would have had the pleasure of meeting or working with Stephen Carmody, who has been Capecares CEO since 2017. With a mixture of sadness and gratitude we wanted to share the news that Stephen has announced his retirement. As those who know him will attest, he lead our organisation with compassion and dedication and during his tenure we achieved some significant milestones. These included successfully achieving a further three years reaccreditation, continued grow...th and innovation in community services and the design and commencement of construction of the new Dunsborough integrated aged care complex. We are pleased to advise that stepping into an Acting CEO role is Elizabeth Hogarth who is no doubt a familiar and friendly face to our residents and families. Elizabeth has been Capecares Chief Operating Officer for the past three years and has extensive experience in all aspects of our business and is committed to our core values. Elizabeth joined Capecare following an accomplished career in registered nursing in Scotland, UK, New Zealand and Australia, and more recently in senior commercial medical roles and holds a Commerce degree from Curtin University. Please join us in sincerely thanking Stephen for his service and congratulating Elizabeth on her new appointment. See more
