15.01.2022 The committee and staff at CSF hope the community is fairing well post lockdown and staying healthy. There has been no further direction from the Victorian Government regarding camping in Metropolitan Melbourne. To this end, the potential re-opening date of the 19th December is still in place and we will continue to take bookings from this point onwards. Upon re-opening, there will be additional processes in place to ensure a COVID-Safe camping experience, these are yet to b...e finalised and will be drawn from the latest government directives concerning health and safety practices in relation to COVID-19. We now have substantial peak period availability and encourage everyone interested in camping to submit an entry to the waitlist. IMPORTANT: If you have already submitted an entry, please submit again to update your preferences as there is a wide variety of sites available and it is likely we can find a site to suit more specific preferences. We will be contacting applicants with site options from the 2nd of November. Please follow this link to enter the waitlist: https://www.capelsoundforeshore.com.au/20202021-summer-wait In the event that COVID-19 restrictions prevent the camping season from going ahead, full refunds will be issued. Terms and conditions of camping will be amended to reflect this. Here's hoping case numbers stay manageable, our vulnerable are kept safe and we can open up for summer.

14.01.2022 The Capel Sound Foreshore Committee of Management and staff hope the community is keeping well. We have had many inquiries after the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council (MPSC) decision to postpone their camping season until February 2021. We would like to reinforce that we are completely separate from MPSC. The committee operates in line with the Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning (DELWP) regulations and guidelines. ... At present, there has been no further direction from DELWP, DHHS, or, any Victorian Government department regarding camping in Metropolitan Melbourne. As such, no further changes have been made to our current position. To this end, the potential re-opening date of 19th December is still in place, we are recording interest for the peak summer period via the waitlist here: https://bit.ly/2I5S1kA As has been our position all year, if government restrictions prevent the camping season from going ahead, all bookings will be offered a full refund. Edit 11:09am: Based on feedback we would like to reiterate that the safety of campers, the community, and staff is the most important aspect of the situation and if the camping season cannot go ahead safely, it will not go ahead. 08.01.2022 Yellow-Tailed Black Cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus funereus) have been frequenting CSF over the last 6 weeks. Historically, they have been seen regularly at Capel Sound before disappearing in recent years. Their return is welcome and if you would like to see them yourself you can usually find them hanging around section G in Tootgarook! Their appearance might be an omen for the AFL Grand final this week? #yellowandblack
