16.01.2022 Dear Parents and Caregivers, The Queensland Government has today announced that an additional five (5) Student Free Days will be in place next week, from Monday 30 March to Friday 3 April inclusive. This means that while schools will remain open, the Term 1 break will start early for students and they will not attend school next week, unless they are children of essential workers or vulnerable children.... Essential workers are those that must currently continue to attend their workplace during this difficult time. This includes early childhood and school staff. Schools are asked to provide supervision for children of these workers if they attend our school next week. The Student Free Days have been provided to allow our school the opportunity to plan for continuity of student learning in the event that the education sector needs to move to flexible and remote learning at the commencement of Term 2. State schools will be formally closed for the Term 1 break from the end of Friday, 3 April. Staff will return to work on Monday 20 April unless health advice determines otherwise. In addition, a dedicated website is available for parents to support student learning at home in the event of a prolonged period where students do not attend school. This new learning@home site can be found at https://education.qld.gov.au/curriculum/learning-at-home . As communicated previously we have also put together all our resources on our school website under the Student Resources tab. This is a challenging, complex time, the nature of which we have never experienced, but our strength through this period is in the strength of our relationships. Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. Thank you to families who were able to get online last night to respond to our Online Parent Feedback Survey. This will assist school staff in planning delivery modes for our students. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of our great school.

16.01.2022 A message to parents from Mrs Scarlett-if you have paid any invoice totals that are due and it still shows up on QParents as though it is still owing can you please contact the office and let me know. I have a couple of Parents that this has happened to, and after some investigation it just means a number may have been entered incorrectly and I will need to do some adjustments this end. Thank you for your cooperation.

14.01.2022 Mrs Pearce has been working hard getting our PBL clips together each fortnight. The students love watching them, and it works really well to engage our students in the focus for the fortnight. Take a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O3zTEAdlcY&feature=youtu.be

13.01.2022 New student free days added to Term 4! In recognition of the outstanding efforts of school staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, the last two days of the school year, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December have been declared student free days. 12.01.2022 Welcome back Capella School families. Tomorrow (Wednesday 18th) and Thursday 19th we were scheduled for drop book off to classrooms from 2pm - 4pm. Unfortunately we need to hold off on book drop off until the first day of school as our building works are still underway. The rooms are looking fantastic but the builders need until the start of school to finish up. We don’t have any space across the school at this point! School resumes Wednesday 27th January. Bring all your chi...ld’s stuff the first day!!! Hopefully most of the works will be complete. Please note we will still offer uniforms pick up from 2-3 on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th this week . Please ensure any Quickcliq orders are placed prior to tomorrow. For our new Prep children with Miss Quinn we have building works on the pathway into the school on Burn Street. If Prep children want to pop in to see Miss Quinn they are welcome during 2-3 pm uniform pick up (tomorrow and Thursday) to say hello. Please be aware of building works and enter near port racks. The prep classroom won’t be ready til day 1 also as it is storing all the excess furniture. Families this is an exciting time. Please be patient as our school is transformed! We apologise for the change to book drop off. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a time to meet your child’s teacher before school resumes please email- [email protected] Please note for visits to our school site - ensure you use the hand washing stations, social distancing measures taken and don’t enter if you are sick. Please review the Department of Education’s message about visiting school sites. Welcome back!!! https://YouTube.be/k7X54JrjJAQ
