FountainLine was founded by John McGain in the early 1930s at Marrickville, Sydney, and continues to be an integrated manufacturer of grass line marking machines and line marking paints.

19.01.2022 This Massey Harris Type 2 3hp engine (1924-25) was secured from the Mackay hinterland in 2016. It has been restored and set up with a mystery double action pump. The Type 2 engines were built from 1923 to 1932 in sizes of 1, 3, 4 and 6 horsepower. They were a throttle governed engine which initially used an all brass mixer and a Webster Magneto when they first came out in 1923. In 1924, the ignition was changed to the Wico SK magneto and spark plug. In 1926, a conversion was made available to convert the 1923 models to the Wico system. Their appearance was more conventional for the time and they were set up to deliver full horsepower using either gas or kerosene.

18.01.2022 The Capella Craft Group have made this very striking patchwork quilt to raffle with proceeds to go to the Capella Pioneer Village. It measures 246x196cm and is very striking in a green, orange and cream colour palette. It has been professionally quilted by Emerald’s Evol Opperman, which gives it an extra-special finish. Tickets are $2 each and are on sale at the Capella Library, near the polling booth on Election Day and Peak Downs Street.

17.01.2022 Thank you to all who have visited and supported the Capella Pioneer Village over past years. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has forced temporary closure of the museum complex. Please stay as safe as you can during this time. Village restoration works continue remotely and images of restored objects will be posted here. We hope you will enjoy seeing and reading about the region’s revitalised history and will be able to look at it in person in the not too distant future. Take care.

16.01.2022 Unfortunately, the 2020 Capella Pioneer Village’s annual Heritage Day has had to be cancelled due to COVID19 conditions and restrictions. But we look forward to enjoying the demonstrations and exhibits, such as the Capella Craft Group’s great patchworking skills, again next year on the second Saturday of September 2021. We sincerely thank our local and regional communities, and our visitors from further away, for your continued support.

14.01.2022 Everyone who has helped the Pioneer Village out in any way are invited to a BBQ at the Village on 15 November at 6.30pm. The committee is looking for ideas and feedback on the annual Heritage Day and the museum complex in general. Meats will be supplied, just bring a salad or desert to share (smorgasbord style) and your own drinks. The kids in the photo saw the Massey Harris tandem tractors in operation in Heritage Day and reckoned they could do better!
