25.01.2022 We had our first whole school rehearsal for the end of year concert "Lockdown Live." Here is a sneak preview. We hope to see you all there on Tuesday 15th December. The show starts at 5.30 but come down earlier to have a picnic.

23.01.2022 The lost property tree has grown! Any items with names have been returned, all items left don’t have names. Please come and see if your child’s jumper or item is hanging on the tree. They will be dropped off to the op shop Thursday.
22.01.2022 Runners Club is up and going for Term 3. We are running around Australia on "Route 1". We have nearly made the South Australian border. We will be running Tuesday to Friday. Tuart is out in front.

21.01.2022 We were fortunate to have Author/Illustrator, Kylie Howarth visit last week for Book Week 2020. The students all learnt things about Marine life and how to draw a cool Hammerhead shark. The students loved it. Thanks to the Capel Library for organising this event.

21.01.2022 We are in need of ceramic tiles for a school project. If you have any tiles (broken or whole) laying around - particularly red, brown, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet (any shade) we would love to take them off your hands. There is a large red tub just inside the office door where any tiles can be dropped off. Thank-you

16.01.2022 The annual Year 5 Peppi Beach bike ride was held today in windy and cool conditions. A big thank you to all the adults who helped, we can't hold it without you. The amount of traffic on the highway today reinforced our decision to bus across the road to start.
15.01.2022 Our Year 6 students from Room 4 did a marvellous job with their performance of Jailhouse Rock at the Capel Police Station opening. Showing a heap of Capel PS resilience even when the PA malfunctioned. The Premier Mark McGowan and the Police Minister Michelle Roberts were very impressed. Thankyou to Ms Schrama for all your hard work.
14.01.2022 We have a lot happening at school this week. Bike ED, Remembrance Day Service and NAIDOC Week and we hope to have some pictures to share soon. However, we didn't get to post these wonderful pictures of our Year 6 students, last week reading to Pre Primary and Year 2 students doing for Water Wise week during swimming.

13.01.2022 CAPEL POLICE STATION OPEN Students from Capel Primary School jammed out to Jailhouse Rock at the official opening of the Capel Police Station. The station ...will be staffed seven days a week by nine additional police officers for the region. Premier Mark McGowan, Police Minister Michelle Roberts and Police Commissioner Chris Dawson today paid the station a visit for the opening ceremony.

11.01.2022 This was our first ever Cross Country with Dalyellup PS. The students enjoyed the run through Capel PS bush setting.
11.01.2022 What an amazing afternoon for the Colour Fun Run. We started with a sea of white and ended the day with an array of colours. It was hard to tell who was who. A big thank you to the P&C for organising the event , Mr Harris for all his hard work and the Capel community for their sponsorship. The smiles were infectious and it was hard to believe how many laps the students completed. As they say, one picture if worth a thousand words.

09.01.2022 Year 6 students have been working on a Sustainability STEM project this week designing structures to support wildlife around Capel like possum bridges, birdhouses and bee structures. Well done to the students and teachers on such a great project.
09.01.2022 We held our last PIRC assembly today which focused on students being Caring, which means including others, showing Empathy, helping others in need, being sensitive to other people's feelings, being a positive bystander and thinking about how our actions affect others. Students certainly enjoyed doing doing the PIRC dance. Congratulations to the winners of the MKR bakeoff. We thank Sharna and James for again having the hard task of judging the winners.

08.01.2022 Cash4Cans Collie is supporting Capel PS through the Containers for Change Scheme providing a skip bin and passing on the full 10c per container to the school at no charge. You can help by dropping your eligible containers off into the big yellow bin near the sports shed. Aluminium cans, glass bottles, plastic bottles, juice boxes and flavoured milk cartons are all eligible but please no wine or milk bottles. As a general guide, 10c refund signage will be on the container. Thank you, parents.
07.01.2022 We had a blast on our last campfire experience for the year in the great outdoors club. Mrs Munro’s secret damper and a marshmallow or two! The flying fox also had one last run before being put into hibernation.
07.01.2022 The school was a sea of pink and red last Friday when we held our annual Pink charity assembly. A fantastic amount of $595.20 was raised which will go to The Lord Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund, to support the people affected by the recent bush fires. Well done to the Year 6 students for their performances.

04.01.2022 It is nearly holiday time. The last two weeks have seen all staff learning new skills so they are prepared for Term 2. They have learnt Connect, Seesaw,Google classrooms, Teams, Webex, Zoom and how to complete video lessons. Their heads are swimming, great job Mr Harris! 03.01.2022 We have a new lunchtime initiative for our lunchtime Be Active program. Students may bring a set of wheels and a helmet - (scooter, bike or rollerblades) and we will supervise them on our newly designed tracks. I have more information about this in our newsletter.
