Our rebozos are genuine Mexican rebozos, from a small business based in Mexico. One of its many traditional uses is to assist the birthing mother. 09.01.2022 Our Roar Behind the Silence Workshops feature two highly respected and very experienced international speakers - Sheena Byrom and Soo Downe. Both have been midwives for over 30 years and both have OBEs for their service to midwifery. Sheena started practising midwifery in 1978 and had an extensive career in the NHS including as one of the UK's first consultant midwives. She is now an author, international speaker and advocate, and travels extensively meeting with midwives ar...ound the world. Soo has been a registered midwife since 1985. She is currently Professor of Midwifery at the University of Central Lancashire. She has been involved in many prestigious international interdisciplinary research projects and committees including WHO guidelines and the Lancet Midwifery Series.
