19.01.2022 In response to many enquires on how you can donate to our brigade . I have been told by our treasurer that this is just a Holding Fund and our treasurer is able to transfer into the Brigade fund instantly . I can assure you that the money donated goes towards additional equipment not normally supplied to the brigade and upgrade of our station . If people click on the link they can donate to local brigades by typing in the brigade name. https://quickweb.westpac.com.au/OnlinePaymentServlet

13.01.2022 Hi all , In recent days I have met some incredible people from all walks of life including, Andrew Gee MP (Federal Member of Calare) Paul Toole MP - NSW Regional Roads Minister and Tony Abbott - former PM and current RFS volunteer.... They have offered support, not only to our Brigade, but other nearby district brigades as well . On Saturday 4th January 2020 we dodged a bullet chasing a spot fire in 46 degree heat along Glen Davis Road where Capertee tanker + 3 other local brigades + 3 x NPWS were so close to running out of water, not only were properties under threat but potentially lives as well. Containing this spot fire was crucial in holding the Gospers Mountain beast to the north, east and west. The RFS bulk water subcontractor was relocated earlier to another location in the Capertee Valley leaving our location along Glen Davis Road exposed . This is where I need your help! Capertee RFS Brigade has for years been asking our local Lithgow RFS office for a Category 13 Bulk Water Truck (similar to the supplied pic). The response I keep getting is that there are no funds (they are restricted by RFS Head Office in regards to funding allocations). Capertee and Glen Alice Brigades are NOT connected to any town water. We rely solely on tank water at our stations. Sure, the local council can supply us with bulk water when we need it however it usually takes over 2.5hrs to organise; not good enough in a crisis and we need water on standby at all times. We have the room in our station, we have the drivers, we have the support of the other local Captains. I have made some inquires and have been told a Cat13 bulk water tanker is around $350,000- $400,000 . With the millions of dollars donated to the RFS funds, by singers, celebrities etc can we please get funding for this Bulk Water Truck. The local communities here would appreciate it . Lets hope our local politicians can help us . Feel free to share . Regards Steve Dalli Captain See more
