24.01.2022 Proud Grandmother Norma Bell understands that education is a family responsibility. Even with her grandchildren living in another community, she wants to be able to contribute to their trust accounts, especially as one of her grandchildren will be starting high school next year. Aurukun O-Hub staff supported Norma through providing that additional financial support to her family. It truly does take a village to raise a child.

23.01.2022 It's stories like these that give meaning to the work that we do. "Hi my name is Lutonya Creek, I'm a single mum to 3 primary school kids. For me SET has really helped me better my children's education as I can make sure they have the education I didn't. With SET I don't have to worry about school uniforms, shoes, socks, hats and other school needs. I am always involved in my children's education by regularly going to the school. I want my children to have the best because I didn't have that myself - in education and in life."

23.01.2022 The Aurukun team took some time during their day to celebrate their colleague Greg, who has officially been with the OHUB in Aurukun for a year! The community is becoming a treasured place and he loves working with our partners. Thank you Greg!

They were presented with their copies which told stories of the past and history of their families. A very raw and emotional day for some people as they were confronted again about the untold wrongs of the past, but uplifting to capture and document for others to read and understand. Fortunately, with their permissions, these books will be on display at several venues (such as schools and libraries) to share with the public.

06.01.2022 A phenomenal job of taking control of her children's future by this super mum! "Hello my name is Seppi Bassani and I currently have 5 SET accounts. The SET accounts are for my four children Reyonce, Nellie, Bruce and Callium. My older son Keiran, who is 21, has a daughter Veronica so I now also have a SET account for my granddaughter as well. Having a SET account helps to pay for their educational needs, like the cost of their school uniforms, musical instruments, sporting equipment, excursions, school cultural camps and even early preparation for high school. This is fantastic - education is the key to everyone's future."

01.01.2022 Lizzie likes the Homeland account because it allows all our families to pay into it and we are able to pay for anything that is needed for Jajikal. In future, the family is wanting to upgrade their shed to include a shower and toilet.
