UMI Arts Big Talk One Fire Cultural Festival is a free, family-friendly event celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, primarily from Far North Queensland. 21.01.2022 As part of a Balkanu initiative, Farron Port from the Coen township has designed the new-look sign for the Wunthulpu Cultural Centre. The sign is promoting the first Driver Reviver Centre in Cape York under a project called Rest, Refresh and Revive. Looking good!

09.01.2022 Ivana Gibson grew up in the Hopevale Aboriginal community on Cape York Peninsula and has links to the Angamutthi, Bagaarmuguwarra, Buru-Nguwarra and Bulgoone Warra Clans. She developed her passion music which she is displaying a CD in the picture below, with a few of her songs and other indigenous artisans such as Coldwater Band, Danny Bani, Phoenix Rising, Colina and Nicholas Wymarra. 07.01.2022 Aurukun Sewing Centre is now situated in the back of the Aurukun Women's Yarns Retail Shop which is in the new Sam Kerindun Business Centre. Pictured below: is the local seamstress's hard at work who sew beautiful products.

05.01.2022 Percy Koonutta from the Puch clan group in Aurukun displaying the woomera (spear thrower) he made from local wood and made the pounding end from shells off the Aurukun coastline, sugarbag gum and resin. Help encourage people like Percy to continue this age old tradition by buying 100% Indigenous Cape York Art. This Woomera is now proudly owned by a lucky Victorian customer who purchased this product.
