Firefighters are conducting backburning operations and will continue to monitor the situation People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality. The current La Niña is likely to bring more rain to eastern and northern Australia, with some drought affected areas already seeing rainfall deficiencies ease and water storage levels increase.
