At this level, our team members will not be required to wear a face mask during normal patient interactions, but may put one on if a patient presents with respiratory symptoms. The roll out of electronic scripts is continuing in the Highlands, with a growing number of our awesome local GP’s giving their patients the option of how they would like to receive and manage their scripts. Whilst paper scripts will continue to be an option, if you prefer, e-script tokens can now be sent from your doctor to you via SMS or email, making it easier to keep track of your scripts and repeats! 13.01.2022 Are you or someone you know on a medication that is currently in short supply? From time to time normal supply of certain medications will come under pressure for a variety of reasons. The pandemic and port industrial action is adding another layer of stress to the supply chain. At Capital Chemist Bowral, we are fortunate to be a part of an amazing network of pharmacists whose purpose is to improve each persons health and wellbeing and sourcing hard to find medicatio...ns is one thing we love to be able to do for our patients. If you have been prescribed a medication and you are having trouble getting that prescription filled, drop in to speak to one of our pharmacists, or give us a call, 48612212 or send us an email [email protected] to see if we can help. We have a pharmacist in our Head Office who monitors predicted shortages and places orders to ensure we will have continued access to these medications for the affected period. Sometimes we do run out of particular items, but often we can find one of our Capital Chemist pharmacy’s has some surplus stock that we can post between stores to ensure your treatment is not interrupted. Sometimes the supply of certain items is interrupted for a prolonged period (I’m talking 6 months +) and in these cases we will offer to contact your doctor to discuss alternative available options with them that will suit your needs. You are not alone, we are here to help.

13.01.2022 You might notice a change on your prescriptions from February 1. To help improve communication between you, your GP and pharmacist and in the hospital setting, ‘Active ingredient prescribing’ is being introduced. This requires your prescriber to use the ingredient name on your prescription rather than the brand name. So you might see a script or repeat with wording that says ‘esomeprazole’ instead of Nexium, or ‘paracetamol’ instead of Panamax. ... Please remember that you will still have the choice of which brand you would like to use, which is why our Pharmacists will ask you if you have a brand preference whenever you present a prescription in our pharmacy and we will make a note on your profile for future dispensings. There are some instances where prescribers can continue to use the brand name, such as on handwritten prescriptions, or if a medication has 4 or more active ingredients. We are committed to doing what we can to keep our community and our team safe. We also have an hourly cleaning schedule of all highly touched surfaces and hand sanitize in between serving each patient.
