18.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE TO TRAVEL ADVICE Overnight, NSW has updated their advice that affected areas cover Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Wollongong. ...- . Our Public Health Directions will be consistent with the areas covered by the related Public Health Orders in NSW. We will continue to update our Direction as the situation in NSW develops, to ensure we follow NSW Health advice. A more detailed list of locations affected is available at www.covid19.act.gov.au/community/travel/nsw. The list of affected Local Government Areas (LGAs) has not changed this morning, but it is important you keep checking back for updates as the situation develops. We want to thank all Canberrans who have returned home from affected areas. We know this is a tough time, but it is important we keep Canberra safe. If you have further questions, we encourage you to call the COVID-19 Helpline on (02) 6207 7244. For those with plans to travel to NSW, we ask you to reconsider your need to leave the ACT. Cases are increasing and community transmission is occurring in multiple areas of the state. To keep up-to-date, continue to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and visit https://www.covid19.act.gov.au/.

17.01.2022 No one likes sweltering in the summer heat, and neither do your medicines. Extreme heat and exposure to light can cause your medicines to physically change. Check your medicine label to ensure you’re storing your medicines correctly. https://www.tga.gov.au/whats-my-medicine-label

11.01.2022 Back to school can often mean one thing: the dreaded head lice. Did you know that 30% of all primary school aged children get head lice at least once a year? It’s enough to make anyone start scratching their head. Finding a treatment to suit your children can be challenging but we have tips and tricks to help you get rid of these nuisance infestations. And it does take time and patience - something which maybe our younger patients don't always have a lot of!... Ask our pharmacists for a treatment option that suits you!

09.01.2022 Changes to the wording on your prescription from February 1. ‘Active ingredient prescribing’ becomes the norm. So you might see a script or repeat with wording that says ‘esomeprazole’ instead of Nexium, ‘atenolol’ instead of Tenormin, or ‘paracetamol’ instead of Panamax. Active ingredient is another word for generic ingredient. It’s the name of the actual medicine in your prescription. ... This change reduces the chance of errors and mis-communication between episodes of care, between doctors, pharmacists, nurses, hospitals and other health care providers. It’s important to note that the product you are supplied with won’t change; in most cases brand choice rests with you, the patient. For more information, ask one of our pharmacists or have a quick look at the government’s guide here: https://www.nps.org.au//active-ingredient-prescribing-all-
