25.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Monique Harris!! Monique is an ex-Capital student who has been dancing since the age of 4. Throughout her life she has performed countless times at the Opera House, and was also a member of a troupe named the Best Tappers in Australia. She has worked professionally as a tap dancer, in the Chinese New Year Parade in Sydney and has appeared on Channel 10 several times.... Monique started teaching as an assistant 6yrs ago and has been a teacher for both Capital and Footloose Performance Studios since 2017, as well as teaching in local public schools choreographing routines for the Sydney North Dance Festival. Monique is super excited to see the two studios she loves become one in 2019 and can't wait to continue teaching in the same studios that she completed her dance training!

20.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss April Harvey!! April started dancing from the young age of 3 at Brisbane Academy of Dance training in Jazz, Tap and Ballet. At the age of 13, she completed her ARAD Advance 1 ballet exam and received high distinction. She then continued her training at Australian Dance Performance Industry to do a year of fulltime ballet under the coaching of Barbara Eversen. April switched to the jazz and musical theatre stream at the age of 15 where s...he then achieved her Advanced Diploma in Musical Theatre and Commercial dance over two years. In 2017, she received a scholarship to Village Nation, where she trained for a year and initiated her move to Sydney. Being brought up as a classical dancer April’s technical style has emerged into her teaching. April is passionate about bringing out the best dancer her students can be, and looks forward to being part of the Capital Teaching Team again this year!



18.01.2022 Happy Monday!! Miss Candice here and I just wrapped up a 3 day retreat with an inspiring group of Dance Studio Owners from Australia and New Zealand!! As a studio owner I value #continuousimprovement as I truly believe that you never stop learning and improving.... I am committed to being the best Studio Owner I can be and am proud and honoured to be a member of the Dance Studio Owners Association Inner Circle - an elite mastermind group of Studio Owners from across the world led by Clint Salter and an amazing team of experts who are invested in sharing their knowledge and experiences to help Studio Owners like myself continue to grow and evolve as not only people but as business owners. Along with monthly coaching calls and expert trainings, twice a year we are provided with the opportunity to come together for 3 days to learn from some of the leading experts in business, customer service, technology, leadership, health & wellbeing and more. I learn so much during my time at these live events and am beyond excited to get back into the Studio and start implementing all the wonderful things I am learning to continue improving and enhancing the experience we provide for our Students and their Families.

17.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Amy Baxter!! Amy grew up on the Central Coast and began her love of dance at the age of 4. After completing high school she trained full time at ED5 International completing her Certificate IV in Performing Arts.... Throughout her career she has travelled the world performing with Princess Cruises and has performed as a featured dancer for Baz Luhrmann’s Great Gatsby Australian Premier. She has also been seen as a back up dancer for artists such as Samantha Jade, Red Foo and Marcia Hines. With her knowledge of performance and strong background in technique Amy loves to share this with her students. She has been sharing her passion for dance with the students at Capital Performance Studios for 4 years and is looking forward to seeing her students continue to grow in 2019!

17.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Samantha Lee!! Sammy started dance at a very young age, following her mum’s footsteps in American Latin and ballroom dancing. After 2 years she changed her dance path and pursued rhythmic gymnastics where she competed for 10 years reaching the state and national levels.... At school she participated in the school dance groups performing at several venues including the Opera House and was part of the Schools Spectacular two years in a row. Sammy has been a student at both Capital and Footloose. After assisting classes in 2018 while completing her HSC, Sammy is excited to be joining the team this year as a Junior Teacher.

11.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Emily Bridgland!! Emily began her love of dance at the young age of 2. By the age of 10 she was dancing up to 6 days a week pursuing her passion for ballet and gaining a stronger foundation in all genres of dance.... Emily successfully completed her ballet exams from primary to Advanced 1 with outstanding results, and was a finalist in the NSW Cecchetti Medal Awards in 2012 and 2013. Emily has been assistant teaching at several dance studios for the past 5 years, preparing and choreographing children for end of year performances and eisteddfods, as well as competing herself in troupes and solos in local competitions. Emily completed her HSC in 2018 and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team this year as a Junior Teacher!

07.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Rebecca Stock!! Dance has been a major part of Bec’s life since the age of 4. She began with a strong foundation in the Cecchetti ballet method and by the age of 8 she was dancing 5 days a week and competing in numerous eisteddfods including a performance at the opera house in the under 12 division.... During high school, Bec represented her school in dance festivals and competitions as well as gaining some experience in aerobic gymnastics, reaching both state and national levels. She soon discovered other genres of dance including contemporary, jazz and more recently acrobatics which she has continued to study and teach as an assistant for several years. Bec is looking forward to continuing her training as both a dancer and junior Teacher this year.

07.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Katie Dacey!! Katie started dancing at the age of 7 and quickly discovered she had a passion for it. After finishing Year 12 she continued dancing for 2 years full time at ED5 International, graduating in 2016 with a Diploma of Performing Arts.... Since completing her Diploma, Katie has worked professionally as a show girl and backup dancer, performing for the Sydney Kings at Qudos Bank Arena, The Zombies Band and many corporate functions. Katie has been part of the Footloose Teaching Team for many years and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and and love of dance with her students.

06.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Klarissa Gennusa! Klarissa trained at The Conlan College of Classical Ballet for her foundation followed by full time training from 2010 until graduating in 2015. Klarissa has completed all of her RAD Examinations receiving high distinction in all major examinations with 100% in her Advanced 2. She recently featured in the movie Dance Academy the Comeback released in cinemas 2018 as well as starring in a store film Reverie played at... Sydney Film Festival. Following graduation, Klarissa received many offers to travel overseas with companies such as Ajkun Ballet Theatre and Stara Zagora State Opera Ballet and in 2018 Klarissa joined Melbourne City Ballet. Her performance credits include Crystal Fountain fairy solo, Silver Jewel solo, White cat pas de duex, nymphs, attendant in Sleeping Beauty, Mercedes Carmen’s best friend in Carmen, Kate American Pas de deux in Madame Butterfly, Spanish pas de duex, snowflakes, party guest in Nutcracker. Klarissa has been teaching all over Sydney, Melbourne and Tamworth for many years. She has a passion for inspiring young dancers and spreading her love and knowledge for dance to each student to watch them grow individually as a dancer.

05.01.2022 It's FUN Week in the Studio this week!! Uniforms are an important part of dance, but once a term we will be mixing things up with our fun themed dress up weeks! This Term's theme is "Colours of the Rainbow" and we loved seeing a wonderful assortment of colours in our classes yesterday! ... Don't forget to wear your favourite colour to class this week and join in rainbow the fun!!

02.01.2022 Meet the Team! Introducing Miss Melanie Hitchcock!! Born on the Central Coast Melanie was trained in a variety of dance styles before moving to Sydney at the age of 20 to dance full time and her speciality lies within Street dance styles.... She developed a love for Hip Hop and street dance in the early 90’s and has advanced her skills both here in Australia as well as overseas in New York, Los Angeles and Japan over the past 25 years. She is experienced in Hip Hop, Stepping, Breaking, Popping and Locking, Krump, House Dance and has just begun her Journey with the Chicago Footwork dance style. During her teaching career Melanie has choreographed and danced with crews such as Caramell, Found8ion, Rhapsody & Sweet Elite (Australia’s first B-girl crew) and has competed Nationally and Internationally with Crews and as a solo freestyle dancer.
