The Board of CAPO has decided to suspend our annual auction for 2020, in light of the pressures artists have experienced from all that 2020 has thrown at us so far. We are, however, delighted to be able to support a grants round. 10.01.2022 CAPO Grants | Applications for the special COVID-19 materials grants are due 31 August. All other CAPO Grants are open until 30 September. See CAPO website for more information. ‘In 2019 I received the MPS travel award through CAPO. The year proceeding I was able to use these funds to buy materials and supplies for the development of my first solo physical theatre production. The work is currently in development and I have received an unexpected level of support which has all...owed me to schedule a number of performance outcomes for 2020. The show is a combination of my two forms - drawing and acrobatics. I have been aiming to explore the fusion of these two forms for a few years and am excited that it is now happening with the support of a number of local arts organisations. By the end of 2020 (if the rules around COVID allow) I will have 3 work in progress showings at various stages of development and a performance outcome of the entire work in a theatre. The funding from CAPO was crucial in allowing me to secure additional funds and residency time by legitimising my project proposal.’ - Jake Silvestro (MPS Travel & Tours Award) Images by Martin Ollman #capocanberra #capogrants#capoartists #supportlocal#supportartists #fundthearts#sharethelove

02.01.2022 CAPO GRANTS | 2020 CAPO Grants Round is now open. Last year, the Urban Pantry Manuka Award went to Dan Venables, who used the Award to set up his home studio for his knife-making practice. He recently shared the update "New tool time! I’ve actually had this bandsaw for a little while - I was very lucky to receive the @capocanberra @urbanpantrymanukaat the end of last year. I used it to get this bandsaw to process all the recycled timber I use for my knife handles. Thanks so much to Capo and Urban Pantry :) making my handles is now@much quicker and safer! Apply now to, like Dan, kick start your next project. #capogrants#capoartists#applynow#supportlocal#supportthearts#cbrarts#craft#knifemaking
