18.01.2022 Keppel Sands: a successful walk with 20 participants. Chilly start, but we made it around the southern headland below the Coastguard station before the tide came in. A very pleasant walk across the sands and up to the headland near Cawarral Creek, great views.

17.01.2022 BOOTS IN THE BERSERKERS: BIRKBECK AND BEYOND NURIM/MT ARCHER MEDLEY - 4 OCT Starting and finishing at the Saddle on Pilbeam Drive, the Nurim Medley will take in 4 shorter walks in Nurim/Mt Archer NP. The first is an easy walk up Mt Birkbeck to take in the views of Rocky and the coast before returning to the Saddle and wending our way up the Gym Boy Track. This will bring us out at Sliepner Lookout. From there we’ll head up to Fraser Park taking in the Ferntree Lookout path on the way before completing the circuit back down Pilbeam Drive to The Saddle, via a shortened version of the Elida Loop walk along the way. Contact Cheryl by Thursday evening. Members only.

17.01.2022 We took advantage of the low afternoon tide to complete the ever popular walk over to Girt Island off Keppel Sands. Members of the Go Far group from Yeppoon joined us for the outing. A strong north easterly breeze made for a very pleasant walk.

16.01.2022 CARNARVON GORGE GREAT WALK - SEPT 7-15 This is a six-day through walk of about 90km climbing from Carnarvon Creek up to the Great Dividing Range and the Consuelo Plateau. It covers some magnificent scenery with long-range viewing, and superb forests . Walkers need to have a high level of fitness and be well accustomed to carrying a full pack for 6 days.

15.01.2022 A good walk was had this morning, along the beach, lovely cool breezes and views on the hilltop and on the path to the ANZAC War Memorial and the Singing ship.

13.01.2022 KEPPEL SANDS - 23 AUGUST This is an easy/moderate half-day morning circuit walk, from the southern end of Keppel Sands near Beryl Hick Park. Up to the Lookout, then down onto the beachfront road back to the cars. Bring morning tea/snack. Option for lunch/snack at the Ko-op or The Pub. Contact Rita by Thursday evening. Members only.
