24.01.2022 Why do we encourage you to book your pet in for annual health checks, even if they seem fine? These check-ups help us ensure your pet is staying up-to-date with their general health care routines. During a health check, we also collect information about your pet’s activities and perform a physical exam. This allows us to detect subtle health issues early on (such as dental disease, lumps and heart murmurs), allowing prompt treatment to ensure the best possible quality of life for your pet!

20.01.2022 Are flea and tick prevention products necessary for your pet? It’s important to know that not only can fleas cause skin irritation, allergies and infection in our pets, but if they’re in large enough numbers, they can also cause anaemia. What’s more, paralysis ticks have a dangerous toxin that causes respiratory difficulty and paralysis. Some cat fleas, brown dog ticks and paralysis ticks can also carry diseases that can make pets or humans very sick, such as cat flea typhus, ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Ask our team about which regular parasite prevention is right for your pet!

14.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that we now stock Prime100. What we love about Prime100 - It offers a single protein range which is excellent for dogs suffering from skin irritation or ongoing gastro upset where diet may be adding to or the main cause for the irritation and an elimination diet is being considered - it offers a chicken and rice roll, which is great for post gastro-intestinal upset (forget having to boil chicken and rice ever again) - what we really love, is that Prime100 is so sure of their product, that if your pet dislikes or reacts to it, they guarantee their product. What this means is that we will refund your returned product even if opened.

08.01.2022 Do you know the difference between a sedation and a general anaesthetic? Sedation involves the use of sedative/relaxant medications to make your pet feel very drowsy, so they lie still for non-painful procedures such as x-rays. A general anaesthetic involves using a combination of drugs to ensure that your pet is completely unconscious and pain-free, so that they can undergo surgical or dental procedures.

02.01.2022 Did you know your cat’s weight and their urinary health are related? Overweight cats are 60% more likely to suffer from urinary tract disease than cats of normal weight. If you are concerned that your cat might have a urinary issue and also needs help with weight management, talk to us about treatment options.
