10.01.2022 Down at the Jeannie River where one of our vehicles got bogged and we had to fly in by helicopter to recovery 4WD and find it.

09.01.2022 Captain Billy outback Recovery team was called in on a rescue mission to the remote area of the Jeannie River. The problems facing us were. 1. The exact location of the vehicle. 2. Access to the vehicle. 3. Has the vehicle beenratted after being abandoned for 10 days making it unrecoverable. 4. Safety concerns as we could also suffer the same fate. The obvious answer is a helicopter. Our clients were lucky to survive a 7 hr walk and found by local pig hunters then returned... to Cooktown. The helicopter we hired solved more problems than we anticipated. This included an easy way in after giving the pilot the GPS coordinates. We quickly located the bogged vehicle and discovered it was untouched and in good condition (accept for being bogged) within 2 minutes of our arrival 2 fishermen arrived in their ATV. They seen the vehicle and trying to contact Captn Billy. However as fate would have they offered us a deal. They would dig out the vehicle and return it to Cooktown if they have the use of our helicopter for 10 minutes to find a track to the river mouth. We couldnt bundle them into chopper fast enough. On their return Dan the chopper pilot flew us back to Cooktown, where we found our way to the nearest pub. As good as their word the 2 fishermen Anthony and Dale arrived at our motel at 2.30 with the recovered vehicle and demanding a beer! We will meet with them again.
