25.01.2022 Day Fourteen! How are these little monsters two weeks tomorrow?! Time has really flown. However, they’re quickly approaching my absolute favourite age, and the fun age is about to begin. ... Bravery, curiosity, learning about the world with open eyes, trust, and unconditional love. I do see you peeking, my little kangaroo. It also seems we have three boys, and one girl. Time will tell, I don’t take early sexing for granted.
23.01.2022 Days Sixteen/Seventeen! Yesterday was a bit of a busy day, so I didn’t get to spend as much time out with the rabbits as I would have liked, but I’m making up for it today! First time out on the grass, unleashed and for a while, uncaged. It turned into a chaos of orange blur! ... These confident little monsters RAN and absolutely loved it.
22.01.2022 UPDATE 20.10.20 It wasn’t published. But I can see the hope is still alive by the shares and the comments you have all shared. There is still time for them to m...eet their advised eta. Keep hoping keep putting the positivity out there it will happen and keep the dream alive. We aren’t done yet. Share away CROSS YOUR FINGERS EVERYBUNNY OF AUSTRALIA. We were told we could expect an answer in October if the vaccine is approved by the APVMA. Approvals, change of label, cancellations etc are posted in the APVMA Gazette released each fortnight. The next issue is due tomorrow the 20th October... the last one for October, maybe they might tell us in that! I for one have been reading every single one waiting for any mention. I know by now we are all exhausted and feel defeated by what we’ve had to endure, by the lack of empathy and the lack of help we have received, believe me when I say, I felt like there was no hope when my rabbits died. No one cared, no one could help me and no one can stop my nightmares. But, I picked myself up and I came back with a vengeance with you all in the hope it can still happen! So I want to put it to you, what if, just imagine it, what if tomorrow they actually publish something, what if we read some good news, what if it is actually going to happen....imagine how wonderful that would be.... To be heard. To be understood. To have a chance. To have protection. What if we just held onto that hope a little longer. I know I do. And if it doesn’t happen.... I’ll still hold that hope and keep trying. But for now, it’s a hope worth holding. If this doesn’t come through for us, never fear, sign up to their gazette, keep emailing, keep putting pressure and asking for updates. Let’s make it happen. 20.01.2022 An Update! It’s officially been 5 weeks since our last deaths. Our disinfection and minimal to no handling routines have proved effective in the last few weeks, and it seems Calici has been contained for now. *taps wood* We’ll be keeping our hopes up and our routines strong, and hope to come out of this better than ever! ... In other news, we have had a beautiful light at the end of the tunnel. Over a month ago, I did some matings as a precaution if everything turned to be worst possible case scenario. On the 16th, two litters were born. One was sired by Bubblegum, who passed away a few days after the matings took place; one was sired by Tequila, thankfully still with us. Magnitude has given us 4 babies from Bubblegum. Embers has given 5 from Tequila. Both litters are doing exceptionally well. In Magnitude’s nest we have a Chocolate, Black, Blue and possibly Lilac. All will most likely be otters. Embers’ has 3 Oranges, and two Broken Orange. Unfortunately to keep up with our minimal handling routine that is currently working I won’t be doing regular photo updates on them, as a precaution and to keep them safe. Just a nest photo from when they were born. Stay safe everyone, and remember, summer is coming swiftly, so keep the heat in mind and be prepared for it.
20.01.2022 Day Eighteen! It’s a very sleepy day today after visitors!
19.01.2022 CONFIRMED Calici *UPDATE* The confirmed strain is RHDV2. ... Westminster WA 6061 It’s with great sadness that I’m posting here today to inform you all that Captivation Rabbitry is officially in lockdown quarantine for RHD. We’re currently at 6 deaths. 2 adults, 4 kits. I have three rabbits remaining, and I pray they’ll be spared. Our last death was on October 17th. Provided no deaths occur, our quarantine period will end in February. Until that time, no rabbits will be permitted in or out of the shed. I apologise to anyone that was hoping for a litter from me, or had private plans with me for kits this year. Stay safe, everyone.
18.01.2022 Day Nineteen! Time is flying, we have just over 10 days left of our 30 day designated photo series. While we’re here for all the cute and cuddly photos, we’re also here to teach and learn. Is there anything in particular our followers would like to know, or learn about? Ask questions! Give us your thoughts. ... There’s no such thing as a bad question.

11.01.2022 Day Thirteen! Our potentials here have very big shoes to fill. I don’t ring them until they’re old enough to be properly assessed, but it’s always a nice feeling when someone shows some potential.
