23.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! I have had the privilege of working with so many incredible female business owners over the last year. This beauty is Emma Craig from Not Without Spice. She's a mother, a singer, a small business owner and an absolute delight to work with. This pic was taken in my studio after one of our Social Media Coaching sessions.... 20.01.2022 Social media can be stressful It really doesn't have to be. Here are a few ways to organise your social media: 1. Plan your content... This is by far the most common advice I give people who approach me for help with their social media. There are heaps of great Social Media Schedulers out there; I have used Later and Planoly. It means you can block out some time to create posts for the next week/fortnight/month. Then you can let your Social Media Scheduler auto-post for you. It's a total game-changer. 2. Establish content pillars Content pillars are key to planning out a strong social media calendar and strategy. They help you stay focused and consistent. You need to find the right content pillars for your target audience. Here's a commonly used set of content pillars that you can tailor to most business: Educate Inspire Entertain Promote 3. Hire a Social Media Manager or Coach I work with a variety of small business owners in many different ways; from 1:1 coaching sessions to full weekly social media management. Sometimes you just need someone to point you in the right direction. I hope this is helpful. Let me know in the comments below which one of these tips resonated with you the most See more

19.01.2022 I am completely obsessed with photographing and styling food. Always have been really. The only real change is that I now get paid to do it Food is more than just something we eat; it represents love, family and limitless joy. It’s colour and smell and flavour. It’s that memory you have of a magical meal in a faraway place. It’s the glorious mess of shared dinners and late nights with friends. Food brings people together like nothing e...lse really can. On Tuesday, I did my first food photoshoot with the gorgeous Emma from Not Without Spice. She cooked up a storm using her baking kits, spice kits and spice rubs. I played happily with light, composition and my ever growing selection of props. It was a seriously long day. I was up at 4.50am and didn’t get home till around 9pm (I had a bit of a break in the middle of the day don’t worry lol). It was also one of the *most* creative days I have had for a long time. I pinch myself every time I have a day like this. I have worked so hard to get to where I am today. I love what I do and the creative freedom I now have in my business. Being able to bring Emma’s delicious recipes to life in photographs is very much the icing on the cake Cake made with : Not Without Spice’s Gluten Free Lavender Orange Tea Cake Baking Kit Edible flowers: Lyttleton Stores See more

17.01.2022 This is my new logo! The incredibly talented Jacqui from Northwood Green has designed a new style guide and logo for my business and I couldn't love it anymore than I do. I've admired her work for years and she was an absolute joy to work with. Branding and visual identity are a crucial part of any business. 13.01.2022 I love working with my friends. Sometimes. Not all the time. You really need to pick the people you work with carefully; especially if you already know them personally. I met my friend Lucy in my first year at Sydney College of the Arts just over 20 years ago. She has *always* been one of my most favourite people. She's a rockstar and an artist. Over the years she has continued to amaze, inspire and surprise me. She also happens to be one of those incredibl...e humans who used lockdown to create art. She had the opening for her photography exhibition "Wamberal Rocks & Surrounds" yesterday at The Bamboo Buddha on the Central Coast. I photographed the opening (and the food of course!) and we also did a bit of Social Media Coaching together during my visit. This was well & truly a great experience of working with a friend. I highly recommend a trip to Bamboo Buddha even if you're not vegan. It's a beautiful space, with gorgeous food and lovely staff. Lucy's photos are on exhibition there until 15th November 2020 Side note How insanely good does this Satay Tofu Buddha Bowl Iook - it was delish and I rarely say that about tofu dishes! The kombucha on tap was awesome too. Happy days See more

08.01.2022 I've been sorting out and backing up my gigantic Photo Album on my laptop over January. It's a *big* job. Very easy to neglect. I did it last year.....but was up to over 12,000 photos again! I'm not finished yet. I stumbled over this photo I took of these *divine* Ayala Bar earrings. I love jewellery so much; it's such a treat to get to photograph artisan jewellery from around the world for my job.... Now on a serious note. When is the last time you properly sorted out your computer's Photo Library? See more

04.01.2022 As this crazy year is coming to an end, I've been thinking about some of my favourite work moments of 2020 Working with Qismet Jewellery this year has been a dream. It's been super creative and full of photoshoots where I get to immerse myself in the magical world of artisan jewellery. This photoshoot with the gorgeous model, Claire, was definitely my favourite one of the year. This was her first-ever modelling gig and she was an abso...lute natural. In this photo, she models a stunning silver Mijaqisma necklace. I remember this *exact* moment when I clicked down on my camera after telling her a joke and I knew I had captured something special What has been your work highlight of the year..? See more

04.01.2022 New week! New studio! Capture Blue Mountains has a brand new home at Nauti Studios in Hazelbrook. I’ve been considering moving out of my home office and into a co-working space for a while now; last week I finally took the plunge. ... Anyone who has had the pleasure of visiting Nauti Studios knows just how awesome it is. Great people working on a variety of cool stuff. Thriving indoor plants, artworks and natural light everywhere. The tea collection is comprehensive. Yeah. It’s pretty much heaven. Will share some more pics later this week. Maybe when I retire my makeshift standing desk/ironing board and get at least one chair in there Happy Monday peeps See more

04.01.2022 Sorry. It's the truth. If I had a dollar for every time I have said this line I would be writing this post from my own private island. Social media is however a fabulous place to:... Connect with your audience Nurture your potential customers Entertain, inspire and educate Add value (not fluff) Social media is a place to serve, not just to sell. Your social media strategy should *always* be part of an overall business strategy; one piece of the pie. Repeat

04.01.2022 Is it just me or there something in the air this long weekend? I'm assuming it's the collective expectation of 2020: Part 2. The potential end of the recent trauma of living in the Blue Mountains (bushfires/floods/COVID). The promise of warm weather and new beginnings. I'm feeling particularly optimistic and hopeful as I write this post; which is a nice change from an intense and challenging few months.... Are you? See more

01.01.2022 Hello! I'm back in the studio today doing a few hours work. I know it's a public holiday but my kids are with their Dad today so I have to work when I can. I'm the only person here in the co-working space where I work so I've got my music up loud! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and sending lots of love to all those poor Sydneysiders who were separated from their families due to the recent covid outbreak.... Feeling good. Lots of fun projects starting next month. Hope you're feeling content and enjoying some post-Xmas chill out time See more
