19.01.2022 Its the stillness before dawn, the lull when even the birds pause their musical notes and the perpetual battle to shrug off sleep begins. The yawn and the stretch and the eyes lazily opening to check if the infinite blackness has lifted its cloak to give back light to the horizon. Ears keenly listening for the slightest ruffle of wind that could be playing across the seas surface, changing it from mirrored perfection to broken white caps. The gathering of fisherman at the ...waters edge, dawns early light playing across faces weathered by 1000 moments as familiar and nostalgic. Another check of the weather reading, a gentle 6 knots and theyre good to go. Toast in one hand, tea in the other, trying to round up the rods and tackle boxes, excitement for the morning ahead changing the tempo from moderate to panic. The sky turns a fiery red as if to hint the fisherman should already be out on the waters, and the low tide reveals twin tracks in the sand of those who have been up earlier. 3 pulls of the outboard and with a puff of smoke she starts, ready to dance over the waves towards dawns full glory and the promise of fish to be had. The fisherman is on his way with a secret smile for he knows this time is between him and the sea and theres a battle to be had ahead. Erin Meally Captured, by Erin Meally

10.01.2022 ~ in a world full of hate, be beautiful ~

09.01.2022 Hawkesbury Floods March 2021 Nature does nothing by halves. We are irrelevant and she has no empathy. She does not see nor care for our trials, or for the tears that run the course and join the water that washes away all that man was too careless to leave behind. It is a cycle, a cleanse for mother nature, and while we go about bickering over what is relevant in life, she quietly goes about her business.

02.01.2022 ~ fire light ~ No wonder we are mesmerised by fires..

02.01.2022 I think it's fair to say that anyone who has been following any of my pages will know how much I love the Australian Bush, and Photography. I think it's also fair to say that this has been a hard year. Fire, Flood, Pandemic. The fires of late 2019 / early 2020 were devastating, and at a time when I was just realising how important a part photography would play in my life, I took it upon myself to document the fires in Blue Mountains, from the day after through to now, one ye...ar on. During the full video you will see I selected 30 photos taken during the weeks after the fires came through, and then one year later armed with my camera, my laptop and my phone, I sought out the exact same positions that the inital images were taken. Needless to say this was not an easy task and luckily I do not give up easily. What you see in the full video is the equivalent of 2 weeks in time, which is how long it took me to put this all together. One photo alone I made 4 - 1hr trips to find!! I can honestly now say that I have never worked quite so hard to put together something that I can share with people and that personally, I am quite proud of. Tomorrow on Christmas Eve I will post the full video, as a reminder that while 2020 has been devastating, there is, and always will be, light at the end of the tunnel, regeneration..
