He shared his story of survival and told of shooting down two enemy Japanese dive bombers. 04.01.2022 US aviators, most likely from the 49th Pursuit Group standing next to rear fuselage and canopy remains of Sergeant Hajime Toyoshima's zero which crashed on Melv...ille Island. This section was brought back to Darwin with the rest remaining in situ until recovered post war and is now on display in the Aviation Museum. See more
