21.01.2022 Dr Tom Lewis giving us the good oil on Kaname Harada, Japanese flying ace of World War II. He was credited with shooting down several Allied aircraft and was the last surviving pilot from the bombing of Darwin.

He shared his story of survival and told of shooting down two enemy Japanese dive bombers. 04.01.2022 Early morning drone shot of St Therese’s Catholic Church on #Tiwi-Islands. Bullet holes from the Japanese attack are still visible. With amazing art decorating the walls this was once one of Australia’s most remarkable places to worship.

04.01.2022 US aviators, most likely from the 49th Pursuit Group standing next to rear fuselage and canopy remains of Sergeant Hajime Toyoshima's zero which crashed on Melv...ille Island. This section was brought back to Darwin with the rest remaining in situ until recovered post war and is now on display in the Aviation Museum. See more
