18.01.2022 1 DAY ACTING WORKSHOP WITH DIRECTOR JO O'SHAUGHNESSY - MY LIFE IS MURDER & NEIGHBOURS. LIMITED PLACES AVAILABLE! Jo has an immense amount of experience directing high turn-over television, working on Neighbours, Wonderland, Home & Away, Footballer Wants a Wife, (& much more), and most recently "My Life is Murder" currently on Channel 10.... Jo has a wealth of experience and knowledge to share. She has been directing Australian television since she first started on Home & Away in 1993. "Jo gives the most practical advise to prepare you for the life on set, her honest and energetic feedback in this workshop will greatly impact and improve your performance as an actor and confidence to work in Australia's biggest Productions" - John Orcsik Jo's expertise in working to the tight schedules and demands of fast turn around television is invaluable to all actors. She has an inspiring and unique approach that helps actors see the scene differently and understand the character's role and arc in the grand scheme of the show. In this workshop you will be partnered up to perform a scene and work with Jo. She will provide you with direction and feedback on your scene. 12.01.2022 Experienced actors required for paid theatre performance for a specifically targeted audience. Captured's client is looking for actors with at least 5 years experience. WAAPA/NIDA/VCA trained as preference. This is not necessary if the actors can handle the roles - and there's some great talent in Canberra! Roles:... Actor 1 Female 30-40s, professional, can do educated English accent. Actor 2 Male 40s, authoritative figure, can do English accent, Dutch accent. Actor 3 - Male 40s, can do Scottish accent or Northern English. Actor 4 Male 30’s (must look younger than Actor 2 & 3), can do English accent, Dutch accent, Australian accent. Actor 5 - Male 30’s (must look younger than Actor 2 & 3), can do American accent, Dutch accent, English accent. Actor 6 - Male 30’s (must look younger than Actor 2 & 3), can do English accent, Dutch accent, American accent. Rehearsal and Performance dates: One show TBC either 9 -13 September or 23 - 27 September. This will involve 3 days rehearsal and 1 day production. They would like the same actors to perform the same production in Canberra once again with rehearsals on Monday 4th and Wednesday 6th November. Production on Thursday 7th November Rates: Unfortunately there is no payment for learning lines but the rehearsals and performances will be paid. (Thursday) May 31st 6:30pm - 9:30pm FREE The modern actor can not rely on the luxury of time for character exploration and development. Extended rehearsal times have all but disappeared, unless you’re part of the main cast of a TV series or feature film. All other actors are expected to deliver without notice and be able to perform at maximum intensity delivering with immediacy the demands of the narrative. Come to this free workshop to discover our modern approach to working within these constraints. This is NOT a lecture, but a hands on workshop where participants will be required to perform.
