25.01.2022 Over the past few months, I have been diving deep into Renmark's history through the approx. 28,000 Negative Collection. Most of these negatives are *Glass* and very fragile, the collection holds memories of Renmark and many spots between Waikerie & Wentworth, Paddle Steamers, Family Weddings, Military (as featured below) and many more! Sadly most of these negatives only have 1 or 2 words as a description, so names for people within the following photos are unknown - so pleas...e if you know anyone featured feel free to comment or contact me :-) **** I acknowledge most of these people are no longer with us & I apologise for any tears that may stream from memories. **** I would also like to acknowledge those who enlisted but did not return from service past & present ... Lest We Forget, We Will Remember Them; for those who returned I acknowledge there are memories that you do not want to re-live and I apologise if your Mental Health is triggered negatively in any way of my following wording (please let me know if this occurs & I can edit my post). The featured scanned negatives are from the Women's Land Army & the 87 Squadron. The ladies photographed worked the Renmark/Berri sector at some stage of the A.W.L.A. On the note of A.W.L.A I would like to acknowledge & express many thanks to the beautiful Mrs. June Chapple (Nee Evans) of Berri, for donating items to Olivewood for their A.W.L.A display that is currently being worked on. The 87 Squadron also known as the 1PRU (Photo Reconnaissance Unit), starting in Laverton RAAF in June 1942 as a Training Unit with 8 officers & 35 airmen with Squad Leader L.W. Law, in Aug 1942 the unit moved to Hughes Airfield, NT to prepare for Operational Service, where they were then moved in Oct 1945 onto Parkes, NSW where they were disbanded on 24 July 1946. All of remaining Squadron 87 were disbanded at Fairbairn in December 1953.

22.01.2022 Check it out!! While at Olivewood today I got to check out the inside of the Argo Barge. No don't worry I didn't go on board, along the side there are little holes, with a perfect position & right lens I was able to capture the inside view.

21.01.2022 Yesterday at Olivewood started the farewell week for one of our volunteers. On behalf of everyone at Olivewood, Helen you have been an asset with the continuous work you have done over the years. Thank you! & Enjoy your Retirement
