25.01.2022 This motor home arrived with timber rot in the back corners of the rear boot and floor. The fiberglass was brittle from the moisture in this area. After cutting out and rebuilding the timber and glassing over underneath we finished it off with a grey powder coated checker plate and new tail lights to replace the damaged rear light assembly.

24.01.2022 Making life easy! Air lift system installed into an Ezy Trail Parkes 13. This system can be used on most makes and models of pop top caravans. Winch post added to an Ezy Trail Lincoln hard floor camper trailer.

21.01.2022 Follow up on the caravan water leak. The job ended up bigger than first thought with the rear and offside both with water damage. All timber rot repaired, ply replaced and back together.

20.01.2022 What is missing from your caravan service? The importance of making sure whoever does the service on your caravan, is that they not only do the basics (brakes, bearings etc) but also check your suspension components for wear and faults. There is a number of service agents that do not check bushes, hangers, perches or bolts during a routine service. Why? Because it is dirty and time consuming to replace these components and they simply do not want the hassle, or they have not ...allowed the allotted time. If your caravan is squeaking and groaning around corners or over uneven terrain, there is a good chance your bushes are overdue to be checked. It might be a simple matter that they are a little dry and require greasing or it could mean they are worn and need replacing. Along with bushes, when was the last time the U-bolts and fish plates were replaced? If replacing bushes then it is highly recommended you replace your U-bolts and fish plates at the same time due to metal fatigue. So, what can happen if they go unchecked? Uneven tyre wear at a minimum. As you can see from the photos the suspension pins or bolts can start to wear through. We have seen bolts worn more than halfway; some have snapped altogether. A snapped suspension bolt is not only dangerous but can wreak havoc on axles, springs, wheel arches and do serious damage to your caravan and can cause a roll over. It can also mean the complete suspension has to be cut off and all suspension components replaced. If you think having bushes replaced is expensive wait until you have a complete failure and hangers, perches etc need to be cut off the chassis and new ones welded back on. How long do bushes last? This all depends on your suspension, maintenance, weight and road conditions/usage. We have seen bushes go after 5,000km but typically 20,000km seems to be the average. This is a safety issue! Caravan Worx understands that things can be tight and some budgets dont allow these extra expenses but dont let bushes go unchecked. Come down, talk to us, get your caravan or camper checked and lets get you travelling this wonderful country safely.

14.01.2022 When did you last check your boat trailer bearings? Received a request to rewire a small boat trailer which a customer of ours had just purchased. Rewire done quicker than expected so we decided to have a quick look at the bearings. Just as well as one split pin was totally rusted out causing the wheel nut to unwind and one set of bearings starting to collapse. Quick service and one happy customer on their way. Pity we cant fix the weather. Afternoon fishing trip cancelled!

13.01.2022 Customers Jen & Dan originally brought their van in to us to have the roof replaced as the paint was gone and roof leaking. Well that was just the start. Big thank you to Jen and Dan as this was not easy on them seeing the state their caravan was in. Fantastic customers to deal with and glad we could help them get back on the road again.

10.01.2022 Ply work done due to leaking front window & clearance lights. If you think you may have seen signs of water or dampness around windows, hatches or in cupboards, have them checked before its too late. We can provide inspections, ply work, window & hatch reseals and more...

09.01.2022 This was an insurance job after an impact. Little bit of timber rot and a couple of interior leaks causing a bit of ply damage to the ceiling. All roof hatches, antenna and silicone roof seams all cleaned up and resealed.

08.01.2022 The effects of the wrong bearings being used. Looks like it is a standard parallel ESS axle but is actually a composite of Ford Inner and Holden Inner (used as an outer bearing in this case) bearings. Luckily this van was brought into Caravan Worx for a routine service before things really turned bad. You can see in the video there was not much of a size difference between the two bearings, hard to pick unless you are looking for it. The good side also had issues as you can see one scored bearing that has collapsed, been crushed or been dropped then reused.

06.01.2022 Extra awning LED lighting with dimmer switch. This lighting can also be put into an extrusion with translucent infill over the top.

05.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all Please note we are now closed until the 6th Jan 2020. Cheers, Amy and Roger

02.01.2022 Grey water tank install in an Ezy Trail Parkes 13 Camper today.

01.01.2022 Introducing Daisy. As an older 1980 Viscount; well-loved by her new owners, Daisy needed a little bit of TLC when she came into us here at Caravan Worx. A few leaks over the years so this little gem of a caravan needed a roof re-seal,. new pop-top sock, new ceiling plus some 12v re-wiring and a service. The sock was supplied by Dan & Teena at Not Just Canvas who did a fantastic job. Anyone who needs canvas work done should see these guys. The internal ceiling showed a lot o...f water damage. Ceiling removed and we did the re-ply in a white crystal. Not a major face lit but enough to get her feeling refreshed again.

01.01.2022 Had a customer come in with a Winnebago Huntsman. She knew it had a few issues, leaks etc but not to the extent of damage that we found. The fiberglass had deteriorated with the constant moisture that it was disintegrating, structurally unsafe and the ply past the point of saving. Using a white composite we replaced the entire roof and front. New hot water system, air conditioner, vents, wiring and a few modernisations inside. Our happy customer is now travelling for a few months before returning to have the remainder of the external fiberglass replaced with the composite.
